Garmin talk

My GPSMAP60CSx calculates different routes with 2011.3 than with previous versions. All GPS settings remained the same, no new roads constructed, etc.

Anyone else notice this?

What kind of info can I put on an SD card that can be used by someone else with an identical 1490?

The FAA now publishes free aviation charts, in raster format. How can I prepare these in a format for Mapsource to import to a nuvi?

I realize that Garmin makes the aera series for aviation and I understand the standard caveats about aviation gps.

I ordered a new 1450LMT ... why I don't know ... because I have two perfectly functioning Garmin GPS's already, but hey, I wanted Junction View ...

But now I need to know where I might first encounter a Junction View.

Does anybody know a specific Junction View in the Chicago, IL or St. Louis, Mo area?

I'm sure this may have been asked somewhere in the past but couldn't find it. Just wondering if there was a chart regarding charge times for the 765T (AC vs. USB). I don't have an official Garmin AC adaptor but I put it in the cradle and plug the cigarette lighter into a AC/DC converter. Seems to be quicker than USB.

I dropped my Garmin c580 today and now the screen is blurry. Please help

I have a unit that was never registered. Is there a way for me pull the first acquistion date from the unit?

After 5 years of faithful service my note book is giving up the ghost. I will be moving to a new computer soon but have a lot of work ahead of me transferring programs and files.

Has anyone used bluetooth with a Blackberry Bold 9000 with a Garmin 765T? I found over time with the mydashboard updates from Garmin my Bluetooth features have become less reliable. I use to be able to voice dial with my Bold or lookup last number dialed, missed calls, etc.. Instead now I see a list of phone #s which are long stream of numbers that make no sense.

I am getting better with using CSV files to load custom POI, but I want to make sure I am using all of this capability.

Given that, what is the schema, format, structure, etc. requirements of a CSV file so I can take advantage of all the capabilities of the GPS? Presently, I am using a Garmin GPSMAP60CSx.

I have newest maps, lifetime traffic and latest firmware installed.
I was using 660 to get to someone's house, and I was getting there too early... Did not get to destination, turned off on road that would give me about 10 min more travel time... Garmin told me I'd got off path.... as expected..... I continued on my delayed route....

Hello: I had an europe map on an SD card inserted into 765T. This worked normally before. I have not needed to use the europe map for a while. Today I noticed the europe map is gone from the the list of available maps. I then put a few MP3s onto the SD card in a folder called "MP3". These songs could not be seen by the 765T's MP3 player.

for the "My Favorite Files" function. Getting ready to take a trip and this sure makes updating the files we use very easy!

How to set Nuvi 1410 POI for speed alert only (alert whenever over-speed) I am looking to disable that warning which alerts about 700m , even speed is below the set limit. Any suggestions.

My battery Icon only shows 3 bars and never goes more than that. I pressed the bat icon till the specs came up and it only shows 68% charge. Is my battery starting to go. Is there another way to test the battery?

My wife and I own several Garmin GPS units, one of which is a StreetPilot 7200 that we use in our motorhome. On a recent cross-country trip, the 7200 started acting up and is now effectively non-functional. The initial symptom was that the unit would lose satellite reception for 10 or 15 minutes, then come back to life.

I have a 1490T that has problems receiving traffic data even though I am in the heart of Navteqs strongest signal. I can not for the life of me get a traffic icon-green circular- to appear within a 5 mile radius of my work. I have tried every option-firmware, master reset, etc. Garmin was no help. I have taken screen captures of the diagnostic sections that hopefully will shed some light.

How about Funeral Homes? Are they in the default points of interest. "Lodging"? "Recreation"? "Shopping" (for caskets)? "Transit"? "Community"? Community is where I thought they might be, but didn't find them.

I recently bought Nuvi 1490LMT which has only 2GB disk space. So I installed new maps Canada and US border states only on Nuvi disk. Later, installed maps for US on SD card by running Install maps program on my PC. The maps got installed but when I reboot my Nuvi, I get the message "Can't Unlock Maps". It still has Canada and border US states maps but nothing from SD card.

The Garmin/Asus phone is #3 on the list of the biggest wireless flops for 2010.
