Garmin talk

Is there any way to see or know where junction views are; either using the GPS or Mapsource? Or any other method that may exist.

Dec 2012 MSN will stop working, does anybody know if garmin is planing to do anything or do we have to buy another gps with traffic?

I just got a 1450 for my brother in law. I have a 1490.

I noticed that the icons (Map Symbols) for favorites show up on the map on my 1490, but the icons (which show up in the "press for more" area, and which I can add by using the edit function) only show up as black dots on the map on the 1450.

Since my 1490 displays these icons/Mpa Symbols, I thought they would show up on the 1450.

I upgraded the maps on my 765T today. The process was long but went fine. At the end, it came up successful.

When I disconnected from my PC, the 765T was still showing it was connected. Could not get it to go back to normal mode and when I reconnected to the PC, it didn't recognize the Garmin.

I have see New Garmin that they have a New Icon about Gas station,it show the location and also it give you the current gas price..I like to know how the Gps is getting the Price and how accured they are when I notice that I pass by a Gas station and it sale at one price ,and I pass again 1 hour later and the price as change..

I suspect this may already be known here (although my searches didn't find anything), so my apologies if I'm stating the obvious to some (or all).

We are going to tour Maine soon and I downloaded offbeat attraction POI to my 3790t, and I named the file as tourguide so that as we are driving it'll alert us of a coming attractions. What I wonder is, although it does give me the alert sound when it's close to a POI (I set the radius to 32,000 feet), why can't I click on the alert icon and see more information or tell it to go?

At 1030 CDT the first of eight In-n-Out Burger restaurants will open in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. From all the news coverage, it will be the start of the chain's move into the Texas market. Guess they figured out Texans love burgers especially fresh made ones.

Just updated my Garmin 780 maps from City Navigator North America NT 2009 to North America NT 2011.40. Is there a way to determine rather anything changed or not. I would think I would see something new in two years but so far I have not found anything different. It still shows a restaurant across the street that has been out of business for over a year.

Can track logs from the Garmin 200W be imported into either Google Earth or MapSource? In the former only Waypoints are showing and I need Date, Time, Speed, etc., for a given point.

I'm travelling in the Dover/Portsmouth NH area this week and noticed something odd with my Nuvi 350.

Using the following origin/destination info:

Origin: 121 Technology Dr. Durham, NH
Dest: Homewood Suites Hotel 21 Members Way Dover NH

How can I get the KTM dealers into my Zumo 550, I just need the dealers in the western half of the USA. I found a POI file for KTM dealers in AZ, NEV, UTAH and Idaho but it doesn't include enough states for my travels, I also need Calif., N.M., CO., Mont., Oregon, and Wash.
Can I add to that file?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

After downloading the newest lifetime map to Nüvi 760, I discovered I besides the new map still have a part of the previous loaded map (Map, Info: Europe, Nordics)!

The SD card is removed!!

I can't figure out how to remove it. Normally the new download remove present maps.

The GPS operates normal

I have read many of the "help with creating .csv", however most refer to using a spreadsheet program. I tried using that buy my Open Office calc isn't cutting it. Why?

So I used "notepad", got what I want pretty much but here is the problem. How to get description to reside on a given line.
Sample: -157.xxxxxx,21.xxxxxx,restaurant,"address blah blah,City,state

Seems to me that last year my 1350 was able to play .wav files (e.g. "Tim Horton's ahead") but now it won't. Garmin tells me that a 1350 has never been able to play .wav files. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I searched and have found people mentioned 8bit or 22x22 and using MS Paint, but I'm a mac user and have no idea how to convert the current icons to show up (without zooming all the way) as I drive like my saved favorites. I have successfully downloaded Starbucks POI's and icons and they do show up, but you have to zoom all the way in in order to see them.

I have my favourites set up in several categories for ease of use. I'd like to edit the names of the categories, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. I can create a new category, but editing doesn't seem to be an option.

Anyone have a way to do that?

A couple of days ago my 1390 was correctly displying redlight warning and speed warning. Then yesterday I began to experiment with TourGuide gpx files (yes, I know they won't show the jpg or play an mp3 file). Since then neither redlight or speed alerts work. I have tried everything including a couple of hard resets and a re-load of current software - nada.
Anyone any suggestions?

I have a 1450. If I download more than one set of POI's, i.e. Walmart and Passport America, they wind up in "Extras" in one big lump. How do I break them out individually?
