Garmin talk

Has anyone used one of the USB adapters that plugs into the cigarette adapter to power a GPS? The one I have tried the GPS thinks it is plugged into a computer and won't show the maps.
Any help would be very appreciated. Want to shorten the cord up and get rid of the bulky charger when I have it mounted on a motorcycle.

Discovered this on another forum, and verified by running Webupdater with my 1490. It was reported that the problem with favorite icons displaying incorrectly as black dots (introduced with V5.10) is NOT fixed.

I have recently upgraded from a Garmin 1350LMT to a 2350LMT, the 1350LMT was sun light readable, but the 2350LMT has poor screen display in direct sunlight and the LCD brightness is at 100%.I came across the Anti-Glare Sun Shade Clip-on Glare Shield, do these really work? The GPS is mounted on the windshield.

When I download from Mapsource I find that all my POI pictures have been detached. Is there anyway to keep them attached after downloading.

Anyway, I'm sure this has been discussed to death and back, but man, do I love the NEAR function of my GPS. It is such a wonderful tool, I wonder why it wasn't included on the DEZL.

Several Months ago I stumbled onto a forum that had GPS Games. I don't think it was this one but it sounded fun. What they were doing was entering Coords into the gps to find an item hidden in plain sight. I didn't book the site but I wish I had.
I have had 4 Garmins, the current one is a 1390t with the connector for the car computer.

So I discovered a glitch in my 765t and went back and forth with garmin tech support about it. They finally decided to do an exchange order and have me send my unit in and then I would get a replacement. My question is since the nuvi 765t has been discontinued, would garmin send me back another 765t or would they send me what they consider to be a comparable unit?

The copper has been copped from the transmitter used for the Little Rock, AR area; therefore, no traffic data until the system is fixed. I have a new Garmin 1490LMT and it took a considerable amount of time to isolate the problem. Garmin support is outstanding.

Here's something interesting -- I discovered that the Garmin POI Loader, the one that can be downloaded from the Garmin web site, will delete the trucking database, if you command it to delete all custom POI's.

I read all the posts and downloaded the Harley Dealer POI. The file shows as gpi file on Garmin, but I don't see anything after restarting Garmin. What am I doing wrong?

I am considering the purchase of a new NUVI unit, and the tracklog feature is an important one for me.

I am considering the 765t (refurbished), 2360lmt, and 2460lmt units.

EDIT: Also including the 775t (refurbished) to the list...

can somebody explain to me how to put poi on a garmin nuvi 1350lmt

Has anybody heard anything lately about whether Garmin ever intends to offer Garmin StreetPilot for Android Phone? As I look at there website, I see:

-Garmin StreetPilot for Windows Phone

-Garmin StreetPilot for iPhone

-Garmin Mobile for BlackBerry

-Garminfone (Which is an Android)

anyone know the correct custom poi icon format and size for 37xx series? the same icons used to work for my 13xx series, but not anymore on 37xx. then read else where that the icon needs to be 8bit bmp (256colors), it shows up now BUT it has to zoom-in all the way down to see a tiny square that dont look like a 22x22 pixel size..

It seem that I have downloaded the red ligt camera file twice. How do I delete one of them.

I've been using the "Garmin Lock" for a long time, which requires you enter a four digit PIN every time you turn on the GPS. Today I turn on my Nuvi 855 and the screen prompts me for the PIN, but it does not accept any keyboard inputs.

For some reason my Nuvi260 doesn't want to treat the Florida Turnpike as a toll road, while in the Miami area it insisted on routing me on the Tpke

I have set shortest or faster doesn't make a difference, also set avoidances of Toll Rd. and Hwy and still wants me on the pike.

Has anyone else in Florida experienced similar problem?
