Does anyone know if there is a certain class level needed for SDHC cards in a 765T? I had an unrated SDHC card that went bad. Should it have been a class 2, class 4 or class 6 or does it not matter as long as it is SDHC? I need to get another one and there is a price between the different classes.
Class == Speed
The Classes only represent speeds the flash can write, which isn't a very big deal in a GPS. For an SDHC card though that's at least a capacity of 2 GB, so the lower the class the longer it will take to load your data onto it.
I will also let you know that Class 6 (fastest) is a rating of only about 50% of what cards are capable of now, so there is a lot of variation beyond just the Classes.
Here is a good article on several SDHC cards. It includes a primer on what the classes mean and the differences between SD and SDHC. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sdhc-memory-card,2143.ht...
Thanks EE.
Interesting read. That was what I was looking for.
