On a recent 4WD deep in Forest Service roads I wanted to transfer a waypoint (POI) of a road intersection to a friend with another Garmin. He wanted a shorter way out.
I could not find the coordinates for the waypoint on my GPS.
Is there a way to transfer coordinates without a computer? I was so sure I could........
.
Not with a nuvi. (The Zumo series has the ability to share waypoints and routes via the SD card.)

I am not sure I understand the "via the SD card".
Could you explain.

Are you asking how to find the coordinates if you are looking at your Nuvi? If so, check out page 2 of Gary Hayman's site, specifically the articles titled "Where Am I? By The Numbers" and "Where Is That Place? By The Numbers"

It Works
On my Nuvi 855 here is how I transferred a waypoint coordinates to a friends GPS (we had no access to a computer) using a modified Gary Hayman method:
GPS#1 (mine)
Go to simulation
Zoom Out
Navigate (slide finger on screen)to wanted waypoint
Zoom In
Tap screen to move white arrow directly over waypoint
Tap "set location"
After your car appears go to main menu, tools, where am I
The coordinates of the waypoint are there
GPS#2 (a friends)
Insert these coordinates , save and name as a favorite
