Keeping the Windmill Alive - Where was your last trip with your GPS?

If anyone is in danger of losing their windmill, maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go. (Like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive .
This isn't my last trip, but I thought I'd share this.
My sister and her husband just got back from England and Scotland. Before they left they purchased a Nuvi 270. She said it saved their marriage.
With absolute accuracy, it took them down old dirt wagon roads and goat paths until they reached their destination - an old English cottage in the middle of no where that belonged to an old aunt. I saw the pictures of these four ft. wide dirt roads and was amazed that a GPS even knew they existed.
The GPS also was a big help in city driving as well.
After much debate, they were truly happy with their decision to buy it for this trip. She said the could have rented one for $20 a day out there and they stayed 20 days. Considering they paid $400 for it here in the US, it paid for itself. My sister said that if she never used it again, she got her monies worth!
(Being a golfer and a motorcycist, I'm sure she'll be using it again, and again.)

I haven't taken the wife for
I haven't taken the wife for a motorcycle ride yet this year, so Sunday we took a little scenic ride across the Sierra Foothills (outside of Sacramento), into the Gold Country of Jackson, CA.
It came in real handy when we were in Volcano, CA (sign had a population of 110 crossed out, and 102 handwritten in) --- I wanted to go through Fiddletown then through the Shennendoah Wine region, but didn't know the back way in from Volcano (I knew it was fairly close, but I had never been in that way). The GPS took us in and we had a great ride!
5000 miles
had a nuvi 765t, worked ok after a bit, wasn't too impressed by the buildings 3d, or the lane assist. will not take a long trip with out a gps of some sort.

Go until you're in the middle of nowhere, then it's just another 25 miles. If you don't make the trip often it's easy to get lost. Let the GPSr keep you on track.

Went to a new thrift shop!
Love to find treasures in thrift shops. The GPS took us to a Goodwill that had recently opened. I never feel guilty about buying stuff there 'cause the money I spend goes to a good cause. It's a win - win situation.

mis-direct from the GPS in a small town. GPS had us take one exit too soon and we went all the way through town to get to the hotel. Actually worked out well becuase we would not have seen the neat little town square

Costco and back
Made a run to Costco yesterday. On the way, the traffic signal was picked up a couple of miles from the house and no problems noted nearby. A few more miles down the road, traffic abruptly slowed due to a very recent accident. A SUV had overturned in the median strip - looked like the passengers had been pulled from the wreckage and were laying down and being tended to by many other motorists.
On the return trip, the traffic signal was again delayed in getting picked up, but it showed slowing due to the accident. The site was still being worked on (SUV was still there). The southbound side was now much more seriously backed up, 4-5 miles; the northbound side was a rolling backup with the left lanes the slowest due to the rubbernecking from that lane.
All in all, the Nuvi did a pretty good job except for the delay in picking up the signal after being turned on.
summer camp
Just returned from summer camp with my Boy Scout Troop. Had a great week. Found out my GPS battery dies after not being plugged in for a week. Better that than leaving it on charge and taking out the car battery.

Arizona speed cameras

Last trip = first trip
My last trip was my first trip, from the store to my house, it got me there safe and sound, but I still don't know why all mapping software think I want to go 3 miles past my exit to come back 3 miles rather than taking the road my house is actually on. Once I go off it recalculated fine, but I swear I never understand it. Going the other way is never faster.

No short cuts but sure better then me with the maps. Made it from KY to KS today. Gps still doing good with new maps. Did have the redlight alert go off in the middle of the interstate. But believe the camera was located off the side of the interstate on a feeder rd. Or some where below the overpass I was on. Right outside ST Louis MO close to airport.

2000 miles in 12 days
Driving around Montana and Wyoming, seeing Glacier, Yellowstone and the Tetons. What's amazing is how BIG those states are. I saw only a small fraction of each. I've lived in California, and am now in NC which is not small, but Big Sky country is definitely impressive. Nuvi served me well, and never got lost once.
