Garmin North American 2016.10 Map Update

Well, someone had to start it! 
Based on prior years history shown here: http://forums.gpsreview.net/discussion/17527/redirect//p1 the new map update release should be imminent but, then again, the last update was about six weeks later than usual.

Garmin likes to keep us
Garmin likes to keep us guessing. As long it's out in the next 6 mos I'm good with it. No need to update more often than that.

Hoping this is the week
I find it interesting that everyone anticipating a Garmin map update or any GPS update for that matter (even if it's from Toyota, Honda, Ford, TomTom, etc.) seems to focus heavily on the road changes and question what roads really have changed and whether or not its even worth it, etc. but to me, one of the greatest benefits (aside from saving time, reducing carbon footprint, etc.) is the updated POIs alone. After all, this website is devoted to POI enthusiasts. There's nothing worse than looking for a gas station or that tasty bagel shop only to find out that it closed 5 years ago because your GPS is hopelessly out of date.
Still No Signs
It is now June 30. I just updated my map (after about a year) and it is says it is at 2015.40 I asked for software update and everything. And I have Garmin Express set up for Always On look for updates.
Hope I get it in time for the Great Road Trip of 2015.
Moved up to a Garmin Nuvi 1350 I just enjoy learning how to use all this cr*p, er stuff.

Perhaps just the opposite, a good time for Garmin to release since it will lighten the burden on their servers.

It's because the dounut shop next door burned to the ground and since they can't walk next door and get dounuts to have with their coffee they are having a work slow down.
I've got it on bad authority that if we get the 2016.10 update before 2021 we'll be lucky!
