I just completed the 2015.40 update to a clone of my 3597LMTHD using Garmin Express 4.0.11.0. It took a little over an hour and no issues were encountered. Here are some file sizes:

well on my first try 2015.40 there was an error so I tried again, second try it seems all went well the blue bar zoomed along(I downloaded to my device and my computer) just in case, all went well update was good maps updated, but a funny thing happened looking at my favorites, some strange numbers were there about 5 of them clicking on them reviled some of my personal favs no the numbers were not cords ether just odd numbers I deleted them and re added them so they showed up in my regular faves and all seems well, I have never had that happen before I think its time for a short road trip just to check it out!
This map is shown as being issued March 2015. The update files have been too large for my Garmin c550 for several years now, but I have been able to install some of the file to the internal memory and the balance to the inserted SD card. For this version, although I was able to download Southern US and Mexico to my unit, and to download the entire file to my computer, I have not been unable to unlock the map file on my computer so I can install the balance of the file to the SD card. Anyone else having this trouble?

The large JCV file usually comes out before the map update and no telling if or when the large file will be sent to the servers.
IMO no JCV update then no need to update the map file.

I think the problum of corrupted favorites after an update is pretty common on the 1xxx series of nuvis.
