How to put POI Factory's redlight and speed camera into my nuvi 200W?

Hi
I just got our red light and speed camera today and files are Redlight Cameras.xml, Speed Cameras.xml or something like this and tool tip said Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Value. I'm not sure what it is, and how to use it on my nuvi 200W. Does someone could help me out with this will be very great. I tried cyclops safety camera but I kind of didn't like it because I only hear was ding sound when I get closer to the camera, not a voice alert and I knew that our redlight and speed cameras can customize sounds and icons.

The should be .csv files,

The should be .csv files, not .xml. To put them on your Nuvi you need to download POI Loader (http://garmin.com/poiloader). There is information on how to use it here: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/85.

Also on the Nuvi 200w, you need to install sox if you would like to use custom audio alerts. Instructions on that are here: https://home.comcast.net/~ghayman3/garmin.gps/pagepoi.02.htm

More information on setting up alerts is here: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6764

Do you have a Mac?

Sounds like you have a Mac computer see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/30458 .

See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25730 for voice alerts. If you do have a Mac the sox.exe is not needed .For Windows Sox.exe is required.

See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 to install custom pois.

I suggest reading http://www.poi-factory.com/node/30728; then read http://www.poi-factory.com/node/4360.

Get the voice alerts working FIRST and then, if you want, add Icons.

Thanks all for replying

I'm using Dell laptop with Windows 7 32bit on it. But if I load these files using POI loader, does my nuvi will recognize it? How to add custom voice alert?

Follow the FAQ highlighted below.

Do as charlesd45 says--and make sure the POI files remain csv (or gpx) but not xml as sirkull has pointed out. Be sure to first follow jgermann's Windows PC folder options changes to avoid the dreaded double extension issue that has plagued so many folks here first trying to install POIs, especially with wav audio:

This could save you untold grief.

Just curiosity

I have a Garmin C550 it suppot mp3 files, and a Nuvy 1450 (no mp3 ) compatible.

I Know I need the SOX on the poi loader. to get the voice- sound out of the 1450.

How would I go to use the poi loader that as already the sox file install it ,when I use it on my C550 that is MP3 compatibles and does not need the sox file> does the sox file change anything on a garmin that does not need this sox file?

SOX & MP3

I have an 885, a 255WT and a 200. The only one that could use MP3 is the 885. I load all my audio alerts as WAV files and they play just fine on all units. Your C550 will be fine playing WAV alerts with SOX.

Then I need SOX

I have nuvi 200w, which does not support MP3, so I have to use sox.
