2012.1 Map update

Does anyone know when this update is coming? 2011.4 has been out for 24 hours now and is old news. This is the internet/information age where things happen more rapidly than ever. If Egypt and Tunisia can overthrow enitre governments in a few weeks, shouldn't we expect to get map updates at least that fast? wink

I had exactly the same problem. I have lost junction views at three places that I had it before, what gives Garmin. I buy a unit with lifetime maps and now find that the unit does not have enough memory to do the updates.

I found that when my initial 2012.10 install failed on my 1490LMT, I really did run out of space and lost my junction view file. When I checked my JCV folder, I only had a .sum file. I reinstalled the 2012.10 update and now have both the .sum and the 47 KB .JCV files. As mentioned earlier, Garmin removing the larger 358KB .JCV file from the initial release and replacing it with the smaller file seems to have fixed the failed install for me.

that is what I have on my Nuvi. I guess I am okay. now if the automatic update would stop popping up as if there is a new map and then telling me that no new maps are available.

I got it a couple weeks ago and updated the firmware, but it still baffles me why malls that have been around say 3 years are still missing and the Garmin thinks you're off road when you go to one of these places, I mean what's the point of updating, so you're not 5 years behind?

The last

The last I've seen is that it's on the Garmin server and the estimated release date is November 3rd.

That always baffled me too. You can contact Navteq and provide the information and they will put it on next map. I did that and now my office complex is on the map.

Excuse my ignorance. Is GARMIN the only place you can purchase Map updates for my Nuvi 465T?
