I bought mine for routing

and the Bluetooth. I drive tour buses I don't use voice when I have people on cause they would hear recalculating a lot. I might use the tour guides in the future but not right now. I was going to hold out for lane assist but the 760 maps are better displayed than the 200. 4.10 was better than what I had (2.8).

Update for Nüvi 760

Well, judging by the lack of posts I'd say Garmin=1 People=0 Guess they wore us out waiting to solve the series 7 fiasco especially the bluetooth issue. Looks like I really will have to send mine in for a refurb sad I'm sorry I bought such an expensive model 10 months ago. Was silly to give them almost $800 for the nuvi 760 along with the MSN Direct cable................

no update yet

I sent them (Garmin) a "powerful" e mail yesterday describing that my "very expensive" Nuvi 750 was rendered useless "locking up" by their latest update. demanding a new replacement unit..Lets see what excuse I get this time...lol

Checked this morning

I just checked using web updater. It still says I have the most up to date version. Being Monday morning I just figured I'd give it a shot.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Such is the reality when you're an early adopter of most electronic devices. There is a premium to be paid to be the "first on the block" with the shiny new gadget. These things almost always plummet in price within a year of their release.

version 4.2 released

the new version is there and seems to have fixed at least the lag

4.20 Released

Thank You TraderBob. Curiously enough it says that it is as of 10/2/08 which is 2 weeks ago now. It seems that this time they put the update through its paces before releasing.

Felt really brave and updated to 4.2 last night. Karen (Australian) checked just fined during this morning's commute.

Stay tuned for Emily (British) tonight.

Update on Emily - Slight (extremely slight lag but imperceptible).

The upgrade fixes the lag problem.

4.2 Update

Went for 4.2 as soon as it was released and so far so good.

Blue-tooth works fine (but then again I never had any problems with that).

No lag with Karen and minutely slight lag with Emily.

Haven't tested Jill yet.

I downloaded 4.2 and it has solved the lag problem for me on my 750. It is 100% better than it was...

yes you can go back to a previous version

Just go to www.gpsinformation.net and go to FAQ's and then Garmin Archives and you will find the firmware archives.
