Ticket cameras

Two more cameras going active in Corpus Christi today - 1 at Greenwood and Gollihar, and 1 at Holly and Everhart Southbound (Northbound already active). By July 12, Ocean Drive at Doddridge Street and Airline Road at McArdle Road will be active.

I'm just wondering if the E/W (east / west) directionals for the cameras actually work. In other words if I am heading North and the camera file has E/W does it alert me? or are they there just to let you know if you are reading the alert?

Recently I was thinking, I don't run red lights, why do I need this red light list. I did a search and found many suggestions, etc. I decided that I still didn't need them. Then...

I have updated the red light camera page to include all sounds and bmp icons that go with them.

Speed Camera Project

Well it is finally underway guys. I am expanding the enforcement cameras database to include speed cameras. For now, I am putting them in a separate file that is included with the red light cameras download. It is not an impressive file size-wise; I am still in research mode and gathering locations.

I live in Tempe, AZ and work in Scottsdale, AZ. I've seen some discussion here about the speed camera's in use in Scottsdale. My question is this: If we know the actual speed it takes to set off a camera should we post that speed or the speed limit of the road?

Does anyone know if the Greater LA list contains Orange County POIs?

I was wondering if the POI alert sounds off when it detects a redlight sensor or if it is simply a proximity alarm. What I'm getting at is that, when I'm approaching an intersection with a redlight camera, the alarm would sound off two or three times. After I pass through the intersection, it would sound off only once.

Does anyone know how large the red light camera file is? Is it one large file or several broken down by states?

They are starting to issue $75 tickets now from the cameras, no more warnings.

justaguy4321 sent me a red light camera alert mp3 file the other day and I have uploaded to the site and added it to the red light page. Let me know if any of you have any other mp3 warning files that you would like to add to the sound library.

Just saw on AOL an article re the top ten cities for speed traps in the US and a site that tracks them. The top ten are:

1. Detroit, Mich. suburbs 2. Colorado Springs, Colo. 3. Houston, Texas 4. Orlando, Fla. 5. Nashville, Tenn. 6. Ann Arbor, Mich. 7. Albuquerque, N.M. 8. Washington, D.C. 9. Denver, Colo. 10. Virginia Beach, Va.

I saw a news report that in the Portland area they are adding many many new cameras. They even tried to say that they save lives. I don't live in the area, but I hope someone on here does and can add the camera locations when they get up in.

I have a question. I want to contribute to the red light camera project. I live in vancouver, Canada and some of the red light cameras are not there anymore.
What shoud I do about the red light camera that no longer exist? Where should I email this report to?

Ft. Worth, Texas spokesman says first in the nation. Red light camera at 9th and Pacific (Miss POI, add this one to the list). Camera is activated when the crossing lights start flashing.

Fine is $150.00 first time even if you beat the train, hehehehe. If you don't, I assume your survivors get the ticket!
