At some point I will try to drive along loop 101 and get the coordinates of the cameras. They are very easy to see.

For what it's worth, they do not use radar. They have sensors imbedded in the road, so they are not likely to be moving anytime soon.

While search for locations of Scottsdale speed cameras, I came across this link. Author gives links to google earth showing camera locations on Loop 101.

Unfortunately I'm not used to GPS enough yet to know how to get the data into my Nuvi.

I know a location in the redlight database that the sign says redlight and speed photo enforced.
Do you want these or just a radar gun and a camera location?

If you know of a locations that has both let me know, right now we are focused on getting all the cameras that look at speed into a file, we understand that some of these are multi use that are also red light cameras.

The only speed cameras that I have seen so far in the Chicago area have been along road construction. They are portable and not fixed. Are there fixed speed cameras out there?

Never seen one and hopefully not in my lifetime.

It's kind of pointless to create a POI for portable speed cams.

Most cities that have portable speed cams have a schedule that rotate and they have the schedule online. This seems like a pain to me but could be useful to some.

Someone posted a set of speed icons for various speeds. I've seen it in the past, but can't find it now. Does anyone know where that is?

I've just seen several fairly elaborate fixed speed cameras on I-90 last week going east between Madison and Chicago (none yet going west though I imagine that's coming). There's one near Stoughton, and another just north of Janesville, and I think one over the Illinois border. I am going to do some research and see if I can't come up with specifics on these.

I have noticed that in NOVA (northern VA) there are alerts but no camera. I believe that they have taken most of them down except in fairfax county (don't quote me on that). If we can visually verify that, do you want to know that as well?

Virginia is just getting their cameras back up after having them shut off for years.

Believe the units in Winnipeg, MB at lights in most, if not all cases, are both speed and red light. Downloaded the file and put on a Magellan Crossover and seems to work fine. Tried to also load the speed camera file, but something goofy is occurring when I tried to convert the csv file in my Magellan poi manager. It says Latitude and Longitude must be entered and I have entered those headings. Will have to dig deeper in Excel. Perhaps those numbers are text but I don't think so. Anyone else had this prob

Used this site http://www.photoenforced.com/ and found the only speed camera in Sacramento is about 20 blocks from my house between me amd Bestbuy, Costco, and REI, amazing I haven't gotten a photo in the mail.
