Chicago Red Light Cameras
An article in today's Chicago Tribune says that the city is on track to have red light cameras installed at 10% of all traffic-light intersections by 2010.
I can see myself turning off the GPS when I'm downtown to avoid hearing "alert" every 15 seconds...

Speed Zones
Some websites that I have seen suggest that it is possible to create a speed zone for a portion of road and the GPS will warn you if you exceed the speed at any point along the route. Is this possible or can you only set up one point?

How to tell the camera type
I have noticed that some intersections (have photo enforced sign) seem to have more than one set of devices. I am wondering if one set is for redlight and the other is speed? How do I tell a speed camera from a redlight or is this even an issue? I'm in the Atlanta area!

Tucson to start using photo radar

TUCSON AZ - The city of Tucson says it will begin testing photo radar and red light cameras next week.
The city is the latest in the state to install photo radar and red light cameras in an effort to slow down drivers and prevent accidents.

Canadian cameras?
I just got back from a week in the Vancouver metro region. My Nuvi was sounding off with a lot of speed camera warnings, and I could never spot anything. Mostly they were on deserted and lonely stretches of highways. Does anyone know if these alleged cameras actually exist?

are small, 6" black objects at intersection redlight cameras?
i've seen some intersections w/ small black objects probably around size of can of soda w/ two protruding black metal parts. are they redlight cameras? they're not like the 12" silver boxes the size of a shoe that look more like cameras.

are u allowed to right turn when light is red?
I've heard mixed things. Are you allowed to make a right turn on the right most lane when the light is red? I know you can't do it for some corners that say: 'no turn on red'. what about the corners that don't say anything? do you need to wait for green? or just inch up past the white crosswalk lines, and then turn?

Difference between Garmin red light subscription and POI Factory red light file
What is the difference between the subscription that you can get from Garmin directly and the POI file that you can download from the POI factory website. I saw that you have to pay for the Garmin subscription. Are the locations the same between the two and are the locations from POI factory up-to-date?

Stop Sign Cameras!
Yes, its true. The first stop sign cameras in the nation have been installed in Southern California. These cameras are installed at intersections in the Santa Monica mountains. Challenging The Yellow Light
Our TV (WFAA.com July 10) news cast yesterday reported an Electrical Engineer in Richardson, TX (suburb of Dallas), challenging the City of Richardson concerning the length of their yellow lights. It seems as he received a ticket from a red light camera. This person returned to the intersection location, timed the yellow light he was caught on, and it changed in 3.1 or 3.2 seconds.

When loading speed alerts manually (using POI Loader), what should the default speed be? I hope this isn't a "dumb" question!

Buffalo, NY cameras
I just returned from a trip to Buffalo, NY. I was told that the city plans to install over 200 red light cameras sometime later this year. While there, I also noticed that many cities in the Buffalo area are using unmarked cars to nab speeders.

1 month age, I got a traffic ticket which I neglect flashed red light.
how far do u set proxmity alert sound for red lights? 400 ft?
what distance do u use for red light cameras? I've set mine to 400 ft so it gets close to the camera...but not too far away. not sure.
