i read some of the forums indicating that they called the Garmin Tech support for that matter. Now do you guys suggest that i should place a call as well to the tech support or i can go to their website for that purpose.

I agree with most everybody on these boards. I just bought my new 660 in January and it had more features than I needed.

I have loaded alot of custom POI's on my 2720, is there any way to load and manage them in MapSource or is there another way to change icons ect from my computer?

Does anyone know of any 3rd party software applications for the Garmin NUVI 660/670 navigator GPS?

Is Toronto Canada the only traffic lights?
Are other cities supported?

I have just received my new map update disk for North America from Garmin. When I loaded it, it said I do not have enough disk space to load both Canada (where I am) and the USA. Was I supposed to remove the old maps that it came with?

there's a low rez version of nuvi wallpaper circulating internet. is there a high rez version? i wanna write my name on spashscreen so that ppl would know its a stolen unit if it was put up for sale. also using garminlock.

I just downloaded the 2008 update (took 48 min.).
During the download they ran some ads, one was for gpsacademy.com. I checked it out and played the detention game (which I suck at). One of the things that Miss GPS (not to be confused with Mis POI) mentioned in the introduction, was the ability to find your car in a parking lot. Then she never went on to explain how.

I have the c330 is there anyway to set the unit up to select say 1 POI instead of all. i.e. Red light cameras or ice cream store. What I have been doing was downloading ice cream store and when I finished going to them I would redownload red light cameras. I really dont want to have all the the POI's and have it ring too much but ring only for the type of POI I need at that moment.

The POI Factory has a file of POIs for schools. Since all school zones have reduced speed limits, is there any way to get a warning (similar to the red light camera warnings) when approaching a school zone?

Hello everyone, I'm new to both the Nuvi (360) and this forum. In getting familiar with POIs and such I noticed that a file for Arizona Parks that I downloaded has the elevation in feet off by a factor of 10. The elevation info in meters is accurate. I made a correction to the elevation info, and can upload the new file (park_V.csv) or email it to the right person.

How can I convert a GPX to a CSV file

I read with interest the discussion on free/paid map upgrades from Garmin. So I called Garmin Tech support for an upgrade for my C330 and was told that if I upgrade I would loose the Canada map. I have to assume that the tech support person is correct and so I will not upgrade. It's just something to keep in mind for those of you who want to upgrade your C330.

Before I ask my question, I have to say what an excellent site this is, loads of tips and info.

I have received my updated maps for USA and I am using Mapsource for the first time.

I had a need for a program that converts GA Repeater POI and converts it to a tpe file format. I use the file.tpe to import to my Amateur Radio program Link700 for my Th-D7g and TM-D700A radios. Unable to find one, I decided to write on in Java. I've only tested it on the GA Repeater list for Amateur Radio. It is a command line input, so it requires Java to be installed. Anyone have a use?

What the consensus on the new Nuvi 700? It's a pretty slick looking GPS, and the screen looks much larger than the 6xx series. To see it........
