Summer is finally here to stay.!!!!

I know summer has a long way to go but after a couple of more 111 - 113 degrees, looks like we have a month or more of 100 - 104 days. That's a little relief. I was expecting 115-118 August days.

Prayers for our Texas friends

A week full of doctor visits for me, colonoscopy, an ongoing wound care visit, and a couple ultrasound tests to do with the ongoing leg wound.

Hey everyone .... I've been gone for a long time! Wife and I used to travel with a 4 door Freightliner M2 and a 38 foot fifth wheel. We travelled 9 months out of the year all over the US.

In the summer of 2021, my wife was diagnosed with Frontaltemporal Dementia. She went into a Memory Care facility in January of 2022 and passed away in February of 2023. We sold our trailer and truck in 2021 when she was no longer able to travel.

We made countless memories travelling around the Country and made some awesome friendships. I have started to travel again, now it's in a 2024 GMC Denali and Holiday Inns! I kept my Garmin 760 that we used when we had the RV and still like the flexibility it offers over the navigation system in my pickup.

Updated my files and POIs as I get ready for a trip with my daughter back home to Omaha, NE from Lubbock, TX.

Hope everyone has a Blessed week and please pray for the victims, families, and First Responders dealing with the horrible flooding in the Hill Country of Texas.... God Bless!

And thunderstorms are on the way.

GPS worked flawlessly. Found us some interesting eaterys. If you're driving East from St. Louis to Bedford, PA, use I-64. Went in I-70, and too much construction and traffic. Came back I-64 out of Charleston, WV, and much smoother, and prettier in my opinion.

We northeasterners are spoiled. We think the high 80s and 90s are hot. We don't know how the southerners get used to temps over 100 degrees for months at a time.
