Garmin Express v6.8.1.0 for PC is out

Updated and installed the new update for "Traffic" with no issue!

Updated with no problems.

Then GE told me I had an update for "Traffic" in Switzerland for my 3597. It can wait, as I'm not going there anytime soon

Nope, no European maps at all.

It's an update to the "TrafficProvider.xml" file.

• Add support for Digital Traffic in Switzerland, when the unit has compatible software and the traffic receiver has a subscription for the service.

My 3597LMT came with a traffic receiver, so I guess it would work there if I did the update. But with all the mountains, the range must be very limited. This is why the SmartPhone app is better - way more cell phone towers than FM radio stations with Digital Traffic . Of course, you would have to have a smart phone that works in Europe.

Just updated 2 laptops. But as usual you need to uncheck the "Run GE in the background "

Until I unchecked this on my second laptop, GE kept pestering me, at least 3 times in one minute, that updates are available for 3 GPS's.

I found I could not update GE to 6.7.2.0, as my computer said I didn't have the proper rights. I have full admin rights. I had the previous 6.7 version already installed so I removed GE using revo still could not install. I have changed nor had any W10 updates, just clean installed 6.8.1.0 with out any problems.

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.8.1 for the PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

For our Fitness and Outdoor devices that support ephemeris, we fixed an issue with Express providing an expired EPO.bin file.
Our Android OS devices will update successfully now.
Express would indicate a successful sync, but the activity would not get uploaded. If an activity fails to upload, Express will indicate a failure instead.
We’ve improved the download progress for our marine charts. The progress will no longer sit at 1 minute for an extended period of time.
Fixed a crash that occurs for users who are specifically running Windows 10 version 1703.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Now looking forward to the next map

This version sets it to auto-start on boot. Other than turning off that option, it installed with no other issues.

This is like the 100th time I've installed the traffic provider update. Every time I plug it in it says it needs it for the past 7 years.

I guess it might be because I don't have the traffic power cable? I've never used the traffic. That was been the one constant irritation with my 2450.

with a problem it's trying to update the maps I already have installed. I have maps installed to my computer and Garmin I hope when I reboot it corrects itself !
