My old Dell laptop with $$$ software on it started blue-screening, started becoming overly warm, and was in need of repair! But laptop has the most RAM it can have - 2x SSD’s,decent CPU & Embedded NVIDIA GPU. Still a decent laptop. I used to do component level repairs, but not surface mount, and that was many years ago! And age & eyes makes me realize I’m out of my league here.
I found a great place: PARTS PEOPLE!
Make long story short:
I sent them an email, they called and talked to me about the symptoms. I paid for: a shipping box to me, put laptop & charger in, and shipped it.
They emailed saying when they received it and I answered with more information.
I received a call when completed:
Blue Screen was failing memory simm. Motherboard, drives still good. Heat was heat sink compound that dried out. Cleaned internally ,They replaced external connection board as GB Ethernet connector was cracked, replaced cooling fan and re-did heat sink compound on CPU/GPU. Charger and cracked lower case replaced. All parts replaced were DELL OEM Parts. Then stress tested system to confirm everything was working as it should. PASSED!
All for a very fair price!!
Laptop was returned to me a month ago. I’ve been using it daily ever since. Solid as a Rock!!
