Just got back from a trip out west
The Nuvi worked just fine in Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and Death Valley. I used Google Maps while I was on the interstate but once you get in a national park, the cellphone service drops pretty quickly. And that’s where Lola (my GPS’s nickname), comes in. There is a town in Montana by the name of Broadus. It’s on US 212. After you get on 212 a few miles north of Belle Fourche, you lose all cellular coverage until you get about 6 or so miles from Broadus. Once you get on the other side of Broadus about the same distance, you lose coverage again. Then for the next 100 or so miles, no coverage. That’s where Lola comes in. A GPS works where a cellphone doesn’t, although a lot of times the maps on your smartphone are more up to date.
