Well, do I ever have egg on my face. I've always said there was no way I'd have a built-in nav system.

On Saturday my wife and I went to "look at" the new 2011 Taurus Limited. The only one available in the area had the full nav system. We liked the car but I told the sales guy there was no way I wanted to pay for the nav system since it's idiotically expensive I already own 4 GPS units.

What do you think of this new traffic light design which features an hourglass with countdown yellow lights to give the driver a better sense of when, exactly, a traffic light will go red?

This is great. I've wanted something like this for a long time.

It looks like there are several inexpensive netbooks available right, some even under $100. Would any of these be suitable to load GPS software onto and connect a GPS receiver or are all of these just a waste of money?

A friend of mine asked what are the small lights above or below the traffic signals? Looks like they could be motion sensors or something that EMS could activate by turning light to Green for them.

What do you think of this idea?

Unfortunately there is a new hacking too called "Firesheep" that can let anyone with Firefox and this add-on to read, intercept and control any unencrypted web pages you are reading.

We're doing a road trip for the holidays. I just updated the POI files for my TomTom and Garmin units.

That along with my Android phones as GPS should ensure we don't get lost LOL.

Plus I went to AAA and got several paper maps for the areas we're going to.

I'm ready for road trip, holiday style!!

Heads up. Woot is offering a Motorola GPS for $45. Probably a discontinued item but the price is hard to beat. http://www.woot.com/

I recently went to Myrtle Beach and we ran into several, unusually slow speed limits, when it did not seem warranted. We figured it was done to generate money for the local police.

Does anyone know of a website that would should the speeds of any particular stretch of highway? My NUVI 350 does not show this info.
