Are you ready for holiday travel?

We're doing a road trip for the holidays. I just updated the POI files for my TomTom and Garmin units.

That along with my Android phones as GPS should ensure we don't get lost LOL.

Plus I went to AAA and got several paper maps for the areas we're going to.

I'm ready for road trip, holiday style!!

Air Travel

Anyone traveling by air this holiday season. Are you going to go through the full body scanner or opt out and get groped by a TSA type? I may not fly like I used to.

Thanksgiving

So far, we have 32 confirmed for dinner on Thanksgiving. (This is all my wife's side of the family - mine is mostly gone.)

We'd actually have quite a few more for dinner but some of "the kids" are living with their husbands and kids in Florida, Massachusetts, and Tennessee so they aren't able to make it this year. These folks used to be the little kids but now they have families of their own. Sometimes I feel old.

Thanksgiving dinner is at my son's house this year but he's a severely disabled vet so my wife and I are responsible for a lot of the prep. The only travel we have is back and forth across town from our house to his house. YES!!!

GPSMAP 76CSx - nüvi 760 - nüvi 200 - GPSMAP 78S

I need to double check but I

I need to double check but I think I have "favorites" for the locations I will travel to for Thanksgiving in the nuvi I will use. I am concerned they may be in my 760 and I think I would rather use my 885t. I purchased a spare cradle for it recently to use on my portable windshield mount (the other cradle is semi-permanently mounted in my bimmer).

I like looking up favorites a lot more than going through POIs. I find google handier for looking things up and when I move them to my nuvi the phone numbers come too (both have bluetooth so it facilitates phone calls).

I don't know if I will carry paper maps too but I know the areas I will be in pretty well. The nuvi just helps me not miss turns and provides useful input on the shortest route.
