Chance ATV Ride Leads To Minnesota Woman’s Rescue After 3 Days Missing

The Polaris Ride Command app mentioned in the article is an app that many ATV/UTVers use for off-road navigation. PSAPs (911 Public Safety Answering Points) in Minnesota and other areas already get the GPS coordinates from cell phones, however.

Updating Drivers

Norton is telling me that I have several outdated drivers on my Windows 11. Ilet Windows up date whenever necessary.

I'm very hesitant to let them update. Sometimes a particular program needs a specific generation of driver.

Any thought on this?

3M Tape Primer 94

Has anybody here ever heard of 3M Tape Primer 94? It would be great if it worked with Garmin Dashboard Discs.

Motorcycle Smart Screen & Smartphone Apps

I had been pondering buying OnX Offroad for a while now. With 70% off, putting them at $10.50 for a year, I finally "pulled the trigger" this past weekend. I won't be ATV/UTVing for a few days, yet, but I should know more soon.

GPS jamming in the EU... from space

"Russian satellites have been identified as the cause of mysterious, seconds-long bursts of GPS interference across Europe—a rare example of human-made GPS interference coming from space. But uncertainty still hangs over whether such interference is intentional and if it could be more powerfully weaponized as GPS jamming with continental reach in the future."

food for thought - online security

My wife's vehicle got its first chip on the door. No dent.

I remember this from 10 years ago when I bought a used car and wanted touch up paint--no dealer within 250 miles had it. I was on a road trip for work (stupid stupid I know you don't drive your own car for work), so I checked various dealers.

Flash forward to 2026. No dealer has it, even the GM website is backordered.

Avenza And Blue Marble Geographics Combine

I am not an Avenza user, but a few of my ATV/UTV friends do use it.

United States Bicycle Route System

I am on some bicycle groups and there was some discussion recently about the U.S. Bicycle Route System. Below is a Wikipedia URL that explains it in further detail. Adventure Cycling Association is a nonprofit member organization focused on travel by bicycle (bicycle touring). They have been updating the U.S. Bike Route System.

Honest GPS Evaluation Sites

I am thinking that I need a new GPS and to be honest I would like to find a site that has honestly reviewed what is available and compared features. I see so many sites for all sorts of things that are obviously pushing a certain brand to make money when someone buys it. Most often their review is a restatement of the brands website. Do you have any honest site recommendations?

Memorial Day

Let’s not forget all of our service members who gave their lives for this great country that we live in. Today, I remember Richard Schweir, US Marine Corps. Rick didn’t lose his life in Vietnam but because of it. He committed suicide in 1991. Carl B. Rudd, Jr., US Army. Made it through Vietnam but committed suicide in 2006. Jerry Day Leak, US Army.
