Garmin talk

I built a POI file for an upcoming trip from California to Florida, and loaded it to my GPS (Nuvi 2460lmt). In verifying that all the points where there in the file, I discovered that only about half of the POI file actually got loaded to the GPS. No rhyme of reason to which ones got loaded.

Just tried to update map on my Garmin nuvi 780. How do I know if the new map is in my 780?

New update found yesterday. Tried it out last night and it is definitely better.

I just received the following a few minutes ago. And, if I may add, good move, Garmin. I have often thought that the Garmin RINOs are neat devices, BUT over the top expensive. I do feel that there is a need for non-cellular communications for many people, but the price needs to be reasonable.

Installed some poi but, no image and no routing eather.
Named the image files same as the gpx.
File in coustum poi found on the gps.

I was using it indoors to check if I have set it up properly.

Hi, I currently have a Garmin 265WT. The question I have is regarding the display. As an example if I am on a major highway and I am say 15 miles from the exit that I need to use , if there is a major intersection before my exit, it displays the distance to that major interstate/intersection even though I am not taking that specific route and it is not part of my route that I need.

I recently purchased a Garmin Drive 51 USA LM from Best Buy, first use after about 15 minutes it rebooted itself while I was using the navigation. Kept rebooting every 1-2 minutes. A total pain since you have to then press "Accept" and then "See Map" to get back to the nav screen. At least it wasn't losing my spot on the map.

I have tried 2 different batteries for my Garmin Nuvi 660. Both will charge up through a USB connection, but the unit will not turn off and on with the car power. Each time I put the old battery back in the unit and it will run a little off the battery and works great with car powering up and down with the ignition. Is there some special battery needed??

New to the forum and looking for some help. Just purchased a Garmin DriveSmart 61 LMT-S and figured out how to convert custom TomTom POI file for all of my customers locations to Garmin format and imported them. Now my problem is, how do I add a new location to that custom file.

It's my first post. I have Garmin in dash Honda CRV 2017 Touring (Canada). How can I load custom voice alerts for Red light camera, speed camera and enable proximity alerts.

I was using Nuvicam earlier for my old car in which I changed the region to UK which enabled proximity alerts.

I am struggling to do same but I guess there is no such option to change region in Garmin-Honda.

I have recently purchased Garmin Drive 50 and used only today to a route where we had intersection.. I could see junction view pop-up.

Is it a case this GPS doesnt support split screen junction view?

Well, the latest weirdness has cropped up with my 2757 (but not my 755T). I recently used Garmin Express to update both devices with the latest maps but the 2757 had a software update that applied while the 755T did not.
