Help needed - Program to create DB3 files

Well after the German VW site closed down and I cannot make my own DB3 files from saved waypoints, I have found a possible solution which will/may work for VW Garmin based Nav units.

Maybe some of the smarter members here, I know there are many here, can check out this program I have found and how to use it. Have to admit it now leaves me scratching my head. Can't afford to lose more hair.

This is the link for the program:

Thank you

Maybe import excel file???

Does this program import any file format, such as Excel, gpx, etc.

With Excel, you could maybe export from EPE, manipulate the file and import into this program.

Just a wild guess.

DB3

I've converted a couple of waypoints to DB3 but I can honestly say that so far the information entered does not seem to work creating a viable waypoint. I also tried to convert from csv to GPX and EPE editor comes up with blank.

I'll keep at it. If I get this to work, I will also need to figure out how to have several waypoints in one DB3 file since the VW RNS-510 has a limit as to how many extra waypoint categories can be added. Tried it using EXCEL using the vcd format.I have yet to figure out how to combine several waypoints.vcf into one vcf file so the POI Edit program can create one DB3 file with several waypoint in it.

Don't even dream of RLC's or Speed cams, won't work in a RNS-510.

This is what a file looks like in the csv format before conversion. The Lat/Lon I used were
20*36'09.93"N
105*14'11.31"W
The online program converted them to GEO:

BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
FN:Restaurant Brasil
GEO:20.609167;105.241944
ADR:;;Venustiano Carranza;Puerto Vallarta;Jalisco;;Mexico
END:VCARD

To create ONE DB3 file. It is somewhat convoluted. To the best of my knowledge there is no other way to add your own waypoints to a VW RNS-510 Navigation unit, they MUST be in the DB3 format.

In Google earth select your waypoint location. Write down the Lat/Lon coordinates exactly as they are i.e.
19* 23'31.70" N 104*62'38.23"W I do not have the degree symbol so I used the asterik HERE instead.
Also decide on a name for the waypoint.

Next use the FREE On-line vcard generator:
https://www.iit.comillas.edu/palacios/rns510.html

Enter the name, Lat/Lon and any other info you want and/or can.
This program will now create a VCF file with the name you gave it.

Next use the free online converter from VCF to DB3. It is called "POI Edit - Extra POI Editor for GPS enthusiasts".
https://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php
NO IT IS NOT EPE !!!!! EPE cannot do the conversion.

Your waypoints must be copied to a folder on the SD card called "PersonalPOI" in the root directory. No other way will let the RNS-510 read/add waypoints.

I will keep on trying. If you make any headway, let me know please.

Questions

Is it one coordinate per VCARD or can you stack many into a single file?

Do you have a sample of a working VCARD from before the site went south?

POI Edit Can Create .DB3 Without needing .VCF input

Why not start with POI Edit and enter your data there?

It supports multiple addresses. Change the filetype (top right) to .DB3 and save when you're done.

VW GPS

How did you determine your nav system is Garmin. I have a 2017 CC that I'm trying to understand how to work with the nav system.
