Why hasn't Garmin used it's market share to corner a ratings marketer? I would really like to have the AAA POI on my Nuvi. Is Garmin working with anybody?

found a link somewhere that mentioned recalibration of the touch screen on Nuvi's, but does this also apply to the 200? If not, how would you accomplish this in case you needed it?

Just got the new map update for my i5 only to find that I can only load the US or Canada and the the border states into the internal memory. Some of my trips take me from Canada (where I live) to the southwest US so this just not cut it.

I've experimented with creating CSV files and setting up alerts. At least with CSV files, the only way an alert is triggered is if you are on the road that the PIO is on.

I've downloaded several POI files that contain PIOs such as lighthouses, rapids, trails, waterfalls, craters, etc.

I was trying to add audio alerts to my Quest2 but guess my unit doesn't support mp3 so that's out.

Does anyone know if I can add proximity alerts, minus the audio, for speed zones, red light cameras and the like to my QUest2 or am I wasting my time.

Hi I just like to ask if somebody have used an 4GB SDHC (high capacity) on garmin 350. I want to by one to sort my mp3 files.

Again this is not the ordinary SD card only.

How does one access the satellite screen on the nuvi 250W. I read through the faq and all the 250 posts but I don't see anything there. I have tried pressing the signal bar but "nothing" This would be useful.

Hi ya'll!!! I just got my nuvi650 and I'm very happy with it. I tried downloading .bmp icons for my unit but how come the poi loader keeps saying there's no file in the folder where I put my .bmp download. I followed the instructions on how to donwload it. can somebody show me how to do it step by step?

I haven't noticed a thread on this, but after coming across a site for TomTom was wondering if anybody has come across or interested in developing custom garage icons for Garmin users? I am a big sports fan, and drive a Ford Truck, so it would be great to have my Red Explorer Sports Trac or a Dallas Cowboys type vehicle to use as my custom car icon on my gps...any ideas?

My sons have Tom Tom XL One's and they have a nice feature whereby if you're looking for a particular intersection and maybe are not sure of the cross street, you can enter the main street name and it will list all of the streets that intersect or cross it. Does anybody know if a Garmin model offers that feature?

This may not be the right place for this issue but there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, so here goes.

The latest Garmin nüvi update (3.50 for the nüvi 200) enabled the Type G Chipset (SiRFstarIII) update to be loaded. Does this mean that once the Type G Chipset update is installed I cannot, or should not, revert back to a previous firmware version that has the 2D map scale?

I'm wondering if the Type G Chipset update requires the latest firmware version (3.50).

Hello. I'm a newbie so I apologize for this post if the answer is obvious and I'm just not getting it. Then again, maybe the feature I'm looking for doesn't exist.

I have a garmin 260. I stumbled accross a site discussing Geocaching. I thought that looks like fun, but wondered how to use the Nuvi for such a project.

I am looking for the small female connector at the bottom af the cradle. If someone knows where I could order one that would be great.

I've done a couple of searches and read through some post but this POI thing is still confusing to me. When I open the POI Loader, there is no option for manual or express mode. Can any one help.

Somehow while adding POI's I lost all of my voice files off of my 260. I know that I didn't purposely delete them, and I can't find the voice file anywhere on my computer (not even in the recycle bin). Any ideas other than calling Garmin?
