I have a Drivesmart 65 and there are times I will take a trip where I would like to take highways for most of the trip. I will set the destination with "Avoid Highways" unchecked and start my trip.

Garmin Express 7.22.0.0 showing available as of today. As a reminder GE installation folders, each around 125 MB to 130 MB may exist at C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Application. I keep the latest and delete the previous entries.

It finally happen. Driving down the hiway using my Garmin RV660 And the screen just turned white. I have tried shutting it down and doing a factory reset using the power button and nothing works. I connected it to the Garmin Express and it showed updates so I uploaded them, I think. I can't tell but the Express seems to think they updated. There were software and map updates.

The DriveLuxe 51 has a firmware update to 6.80 as of May 1, 2024.

I am trying to install Garmin POI loader on my windows 10 laptop. I go through the process and when I get to the final step, I get the error message " there was an unexpected error during the transfer of the custom POI file". I decided to power up my old VISTA laptop which I have used many times to load custom POIs. Now POI loader won't work on that machine either.

GE v7.21.0.0 now ready to download.

I have the Drivesmart 66 connected to the app on the iPhone for traffic, but want to handle calls through my car audio.

Every time I start the car, I have to remember to go in and disconnect the phone because it doesn't keep this setting.

Is there any way to make this change stick so I'm only connecting for traffic and no other phone services (texts, calls, notifications)?

Last week I noticed my nuvi 2689 (and some older nuvi 265's) had a time zone map update, which I didn't do. Today I decided to do the update for my nuvi 2689 and was advised there was a firmware update. Took about one minute to accomplish and the version number is 8.80.

Depending on your device, you also may have a pending firmware update.

We have 2x extended reach ARKON windshield mounts, bought because it reaches GPS further out than stock, or others.
Both Wife’s and mine mount too far away on stock unit.

Wife’s is fine: mine: suction cup has degraded. Won’t hold any more.
Couldn’t find same exact unit, But found shorter ARKON unit on EBay.
Gambled.

I have a new Garmin drivesmart 66 ex. It does not display any of my POI on my route like my previous Germin did. I have loaded the POI as I usually do with the POI Loader..

Also, I cannot find a traffic cable that would connect to it, any suggestions.

Something I noticed this AM is that with this latest GE update, the schedule to have GE automatically check for updates has been reenabled in the Windows Task Scheduler. The event is scheduled to run at 2 AM, or when you turn your PC on in the morning, and indeed does as indicated by several log files which can be found at C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Logs\SelfUpdater.

Garmin Express Version 7.20.3.0 is now available. The release notes state:

Resolved computer install failures for universal maps.
Resolved an issue with third party maps failing to download.

From what I see on the Garmin Website, the latest and greatest Nuvi units are the Drivesmart 66, 76, 86.

Does anyone have any of these units and can comments on their happiness with them?

They seem to be nice, but the 7"and 8" screens may be a little big for my wife to carry around when she travels, but a bigger screen is easier to read.

Is it possible? It's a complicated question which I'll do my best to describe.

I often create files with long tracks and waypoints for use on topo, or other off road maps. For some time, I've looked for ways to make them routable.

I have 3 garmin gps's A 3597, 2797 and the newest Drivesmart 76. For at least a year maybe longer i tried to update the the 2 older 3597 & 2797 and got the excuse please install a memory card the one you are using does not work and it was new and supposed to work.Well this past weekend i tried again and wham bam all 3 updated to the latest maps.

Hi All.

I have a backup 3590 that I am trying to use.

But the screen orientation is stuck on Portrait mode. I flip and turn the unit all around, but it does not change.

Under the Display setting, there is no option on this 3590 to change to. Landscape.

Once again, I've done a factory reset and also tried selecting the Default/Restore setting.

I also did a complete factory reset.
