May be firmware update available

Last week I noticed my nuvi 2689 (and some older nuvi 265's) had a time zone map update, which I didn't do. Today I decided to do the update for my nuvi 2689 and was advised there was a firmware update. Took about one minute to accomplish and the version number is 8.80.
Depending on your device, you also may have a pending firmware update.

Not sure what that update 8.80 could be. The only thing I got was the time zone update and a note about maps on computer for Basecamp. The only thing close is https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=7141 that is a little old. By chance did you delete something by mistake to make the 8.80 show up.

Nothing deleted...the nuvi 2689 hasn't even been connected to a PC since last Thursday when I saw the availability of the time zone revision. It was used flawlessly over the weekend for about 400 miles.
The path to the updated content which bears today's date is C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Firmware\Firmware_Firmware.006-D1074-00.37.00
Strange as 8.80 seems to have been around since July 2018.

No updates for DriveSmart 65 but I'll check again another time.

At the time OP made this post, none of my 65 units had a software update available. However, within the last week or two 4/65 of my units (DriveSmart 50 LMT, Drive 61 LMT-S, DriveSmart 61 LMT-S, & DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S) did have one available. The DriveSmart 50 LMT went up to version 6.10 and the other 3 went to version 6.80.

My DriveSmart 61 shows an update to 6.80 as well, file size 42.95 MB, claims to improve junction view display quality.
. 2 Garmin DriveSmart 61 LMT-S, Nuvi 2689, 2 Nuvi 2460, Zumo 450, Uniden R3 radar detector with GPS built in, includes RLC info. Uconnect 430N Garmin based, built into my Jeep. .

Ichecked my garmin 2797 last night the only available update was for 2025.1 maps and time zone update.
I updated both and every thing seems fine so far

I just checked and see that the DriveLuxe 51 has a firmware update to 6.80 as of May 1, 2024.

To hell with display quality. Garmin needs to fix junction views and the maps themselves in my area so the exit numbers match what is actually on the road. I've only been waiting a year plus for this.
