my Nuvi760 at times gets confused and does alot of recalculating ( no idea why )
i set it on the usual route to work and i get to an intersection and it says recalculating turn on circlewood , recalculating and then finds its correct way.

Just returned tonite from Eastern Washington and did some wine tasting. Just thought I would report we tried to find four wineries in Prosser using the new Garmin 2009 maps and the POI files from this website. The wineries showed up but when we got there we found they had moved in 2006. Went to the right address but no wineries by the name.

OK I tried to add more POI using the newest POI Loader and when I get to the part where I browse to the folder where the custom POI files are located and press next, the next screen says:
Please choose the settings for the file borders.csv
o Ignore
o This file contains proximity alerts

Sams club has the garmin 750 for 299.00

Ok Don't know what I am doing wrong. I create a route in mapsource and save it. I then open it hook up the Garmin and send the route. When it appears in My Date and I open it there are no points. When I open the file on the computer it shows the route fine. So what am I doing wrong?

I have had my Garmin since January and have not had a single problem with it. I recently upgraded the firmware and 2009 update and since has been working great. Used it yesterday, turned it off when I got home, got in the truck this morning and could not get unit to power on. I took it back to best buy because I had the extended warranty and they swapped it right there.

The upgrade took about 2 minutes to perform on the computer and then another 2 minutes to update the 750.
Have the 750 connected to your computer (mine is an iMac) and run the updater;
Next eject the icon(s) for your SD Card (The Garmin icon will automatically eject.)
Lastly, start up your 750 while disconnected and you'll see on your screen that it's installing the software.

I bought a new Garmin 780 in April. I contacted the Garmin registration web site to register the unit. They told me, at that time that I was eligible for the 2009 update and that it would be mailed to me in 4 to 6 weeks. It actually arrived in less than two weeks.

Has anyone installed this yet and if so, any negative effects? I'm running 4.30 now and wanted to see what update are available for my unit but until I upgrade to 4.40 it won't give me a list of the rest of them.

I have used the POI installer I downloaded from Garmin, also download the Walmart.csv file from POI factory. I have the .csv file in a seperate folder and I browse for the folder when I run the POI installer. The installer says I have successfully installed 3800+ POI but I cannot find the POI's under EXTRA. In fact NO custom POI are loaded. I'm sure I am doing something wrong. Please help.

My MSN Direct has stopped working after one or 2 days. I have left the unit plugged in and although there appears to be full bars for reception it is not getting any updates.

I have already reactivated the subscription as the MSN website suggested. I have called MSN and they recommended resetting the unit. I have tried this but to no avail.

While uploading a POI file I accidentally deleted all the files on my Garmin Nuvi 200. How do I restore the original maps settings etc.?

I have some recordings of classical music in the lostless FLAC file format. Supposedly it loses no sound quality due to compression.

I was about to convert them to MP3 but then wondered if its possible that someone has found a way to have the Nuvi support FLAC.

It appears that the Nuvi 8x0s will support FLAC right out of the box.

I came across an interesting difference between the 2008 and 2009 maps and the voice trigger on my Nuvi 750.

There's a traffic circle near work that gets handled differently:

2008 Map selected:
"Drive .4 miles, then enter roundabout."
As I enter the circle:
"Enter roundabout, then take third exit"

2009 Map selected:
"Drive .4 miles, then bear right."
As I approach the third exit:

I am loosing confidence in my nuvi 350 lately. I was traveling south in Texas and checked the route I wanted in Mapquest and Microsoft Streets and Trips. Sitting at home I checked the route on the GPS and it was the same so I was good to go. When I started out the GPS had a new route that was longer and made no sense except it had a longer distance on interstate.

How do you track these? After their done with your gps will they just automatically send it back to you without any knowledge or will they send you a email after they send it out?

I just purchases a NUVI 760 and so far I have had nothing but problems.

1. I went to upgrade the unit from firmware 2.3 to 2.9 and I god the dreaded "system software message". Evidenlty Garmin has disabled the preboot feature in this series so I had to send it back and wait for a new one.
