I have a C530 w/ the 2008 map update. I have had the same problem/error with this unit on several occasions.

I was thinking about buying software for a mobile device - either Pocket PC or SmartPhone, and came across the Garmin Mobile XT.

I like the TomTom software, because custom voices can be used, as well as the other standard features.

I haven't seen enough information yet on the Garmin software to see if it can have voices and such...

Anyone have any thoughts? Good, bad, ugly?

I have an older GPS (StreetPilot 2720) ... will I be able to down/load poi's from this site?

I don't have a traffic subscription option but when I get stuck in traffic I want to 'find a way round'. Is 'Detour' the right way or is there a way to get into the traffic avoidance menus that the manual describes without having a traffic subscription.

Does anyone have any tips on traffic avoidance?

I'm using a Nuvi 760.

While camping recently, we had to rush our German Shepherd to a Vet and then to a 24-hour Vent Emergency Center to deal with a Water Moccasin bite. Fortunately, he made it but it was quite an upsetting time for awhile there.

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

I'll be happy to assist you with this. If your Nuvi has the v.4, you
will not be able to backdate the firmware. The work around is to delete
the GPI files on the Nuvi. We will soon be releasing our next update
that will fix this issue. Please check back for the latest updates.

I hope this hasn't already been anwered; I looked through the posts and didn't see it. The POI Loader will only load csv files on a Nuvi 200 and each waypoint is a separate entry. Is there any way to load a "route" onto a 200 so that you could start at point A and travel the entire route?

Below is a link to a photo montage I took of the Garmin Model # 010-10969-00 mount that I installed in my car. It is almost invisible when the cradle is not attached to it, it is very stable, easily viewed by driver, allows easy access to the screen for both driver and passenger and it makes the GPS less obvious to thieves.

I Have a NUVI250, that came with CN2008NT. I Have City Navigator 2009 NT on an SD Card, and I'm using it with the 250, no problem.

What would happen if I copy the map data from the SD Card to the Base Unit? Would I bugger it up, or would over writing the data, replace the 2008 Maps on the GPS with the 2009 Maps, allowing me a fre SD Slot for POIs?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just bought the latest redlight camera POI file. I had some other stuff to put into my Garmin so the redlight file was not the last thing on my list. This morning I find my redlight camera proximity alarm didn't go off at a camera light that always worked with my old redlight camera file. Do I need to load the file last for it to work?

My 760 came with FM traffic service, which has been OK but limited. MSN seems to offer much more information with a "lifetime" service arrangement that seems pretty competitive.

Does anyone have any experience with the MSN services -- traffic, as well as the gas prices, weather, etc. they could share?

How can I get the list under "Custom POIs" on my GPS in alphabetical order?

Is there anywhere that I can download more voices for my Garmin 350? Anything other than what comes stock would be good, but I was thinking something like KITT's voice from the original TV series of Knight Rider.
