Garmin POI's

On my Garmin 350 I have thousands of poi's that came with my map. For example; if I select Where to and then type McDonalds, it lists those near where I am. Now my question... I have added an icon for McDonalds and sound, however, when I am near a Mcdonalds I don't see the icon or hear the announcement. I have added pois from Poifactory and this feature works well. How do I attach the McDonalds icon and sound to the pois that were originally on the Garmin when I got my map? Thanks

You can't...

They only work with custom pois

Thank you for the information. I have every poi from Poifactory that I think I can use. Can you recommend any other poi sites where I can find some other useful pois? Thanks again..

POIs

You can do a Google search and find about 2-3 or so decent other POI sites but based upon my searches I tend to agree with retiredtechnician.

Garmin POI

I will have to agree with RT.
I tend to be a "Google Geek" and will search for hours to find something. I have yet to find another site as comprehensive as the Factory.
What other POI are you looking for?

No Pois is particular. I

No Pois is particular. I just wanted to see what was available. I like the idea of a timezone poi that tells you when you change.

I have also searched Google and haven't find any better website. I was just hoping. Thanks

And be aware that the timezone on your GPS unit will not change automatically when you move into a different one.

I have found a couple of sites, BUT they want 5 bucks for a poi. WHY go anywhere else.

Agreed

I absolutely agree. No need to go anywhere else, since you can't do better than POI-Factory. Best files and best people. And Jon and Mary Ann come with the package. Sweeeet! smile
