Garmin and Waterways

I just returned from a trip to West covering over 2,000 miles. The Garmin worked great. It would have been helpful if Garmin could name the waterways you cross like it does streets and roads. I would like to know the name of the smaller streams.

2D mode and tap water

I believe they do, at least my basic nuvi 200 does. If you tap the screen so you are in 2D mode and zoom in enough it will show the names of ponds and other water ways. I think you can also manually get it if you tap on the water (assuming it shows big enough to tap on it accurately). Of course the maps may not have the name of all the small brooks and such, but like I said, I know my 200 would show most ponds and definitely larger rivers.

Garmin nüvi 200 (my first GPS), 780, & 3700 Series. And a Mac user.

Works on my 750

My 750 will tell you the name of waterways when you tap on the water body. It does zoom in to there and as I recall, you then have to zoom back out.
