I am hoping that this is an easy question to answer... but HOW do I change the home location on my Nuvi 260. The Garmin webpage is useless for this!

On a nuvi 350,when an alert is active, I could not get the GPS to return to the route. I got the message do I wnat to insert as a viapoint.
My question is how do I clean off the rest area alert and return to the route I am following.

Has anyone at all ever been able to restore, rectify or recover their BLUETOOTH functionality after rolling back to the earlier versions? The 4.1 upgrade did nothing for it. It also was just as poor a performer on the Nuvi 760 as was the 4.0 2.9 works great, no lags or other issues, but the BLUETOOTH is still dead. Garmin has been little or no help other than I can get a refurbished unit.

I read that the Garmin 760 does change your ETA for a given route based on your driving speeds. Anyone have any experiences with it. Is it based on road type/speed?

This topic could be under any of the discussions, but you guys are more familiar to me.

So.....I've looked and looked but do not find the humongous sizes for the MICRO SDHC cards. Everyone speaks of buying only regular SDHC cards for other Nuvis with 16g or more capacity. Cannot locate any
micro SDHC cards with that capacity range.

A year ago I had researched the best pricing online for the 680 and found that PC Nation had an amazingly low price for that time. I ended up buying at Costco because they had an even better deal and I liked that they had a liberal return policy.

I haven't seen any one comment on this yet, but I just received my nuvi 200 back (sent in to get fixed. The one I sent was 4.00 and it looks like there was a 4.10, then 4.40, now 5.00.

They sure do make updates often!

Hi there, I tried doing a search on the following question and all I can find is how to make your own alert sounds.

Well, not "problems" exactly.... I'm trying to set up my newest Nuvi (a 750) with RetiredTechnician's Rest Area POI file, (along with others) that I used to have on my old 650, which I gave to one of my employees. I had my old 650 all set up, no problem. But now, with this new 750, it looks a bit different when it comes up on the computer.

Have any other NUVI 5000 owners had problem with erratic alerts using custom POIs, like Rest Areas? Sometimes the alert is as expected and sometimes it is only the generic sound without any text description of the alert. The generic sound does occur at the distance I set in the POI Loader.

I've attempted to download the Red Light/Speed POI and the file shows up in my downloads folder as CSV file.
This is with my Garmin POI Loader open and Garmin #660 synced.
I'm using a Mac if compatibility is the issue.

I was wondering how the GPS device handles road construction activity that will require a detour. I have a Nuvi 260W. Can I presume that the device will know about the construction and provide a route that takes the construction into account when I begin my trip? Or, will I encounter the construction as a surprise when I come upon it? Does anyone have experience to share with me? Thanks.

I keep hearing rave reviews of this Australian Karen voice -- how do you get the VPM file and load it onto the Nuvi 200 (Non-TTS)?

Does it matter if the voice file is TTS and the unit is not?

Or am I stuck with the basic preloaded and webupdater voices?

We really need that voice section!

Not counting the recent problems from updates I was wondering about reliability of Garmin products. I have only owned Garmins but my 350 had to go back twice for power switch problems and now my 750 has locked up (I did not update to 4.0 so not related) and after trying many options with CSR I have to send it back.

My Wife and I just returned from the Lake of the Ozarks area. This time, I suppose I was a little excessive, but we used our Street Pilot III and our C330 on the windshield. My wife could better see the C330. The SP3 was handy because I needed to load specific routes into it. The downside is that it is quite slow by today's standards in recalculating routes.

I noticed an sound file for "Dangerous Curve Ahead Alert Sound" does anyone know if there is a POI file that would be related to this file?

Changes made from version 5.60 to 6.00:

I just got a Garmin c580 with bluetooth connection. My native searches for Food, Hotel, etc... list the phone number with the phone icon next to it so I can just push it to call.

How do I set up the csv sheet to have that same option. The phone number is listed, but doesn't have the "phone" icon next to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to replace my C330. It's getting a little long in the tooth. I'd like to replace it with a comparable model. The only upgrades I'd like to see would be the speech to text, (like the C340) and the Mass Storage option with ability to upload routes from the PC to it.
