Are you talking about the default pings and bongs or the attendant .mp3 or .wav files?

If the nuvi volume control doesn't do it for you, one possibility is to increase the volume of the .mp3 file by opening it in a sound program such as the FREE Audacity, increasing the volume there, saving it back to your computer and re-loading all your Custom POI files to your nuvi (including the new, louder, attendant .mp3 file). All this can actually be done in 2 to 3 minutes -- from start to finish if you have all programs in place.

Audacity is available at:

I frequently use the program to 'lower' the volume of some clipped .mp3 files.

This topic caught my eye since I was having the same issue with some POI MP3 warnings I had made and noticed that the volume was lower than normal. Followed your advice and links and worked great, now I have a tool that I had been looking for to manipulate other MP3 files.
Mama always gives good advice
