Garmin talk

I loaded POI of Speed cameras to my garmin.Then I tried to load different speed icons and alarm sounds accordance with those speed cameras. Now I have problem with these speed limits. There are so many different speed limits: 10, 15, ...70 mph. How do I know what's the speed limit on which speed camera?

Ok, as have several others, I posted that my 260W (purchased Black Friday at Best Buy) has many of the new style 255W features ... features Garmin specs say the 260W doesn't have (ie Where Am I? Next Turn Icon in upper left corner. Automatic Time Set)

I have a nuvi 265T, and want to take advantage of the ability to have image associated with my custom poi's. How do I do this. I don't want to have them as favorites, I want to have them as custom POI's.
I generate a gpx file to upload with POIloader, but don't know the proper syntax to add images.

I've have a question about the calculated arrival time on the Nuvi 2xx series. I'm driving through several time zones, does the calculated arrival time shown at the local destination time zone or the time zone where you started ?

Just got the new version (4.70) installed on my nuvi and so far so good. You mileage may vary! (LOL) One question, I have the ORIGINAL Bluetooth software on the unit, it shows as version 00.00 on the unit. My question is, should I install the new bluetooth version or just leave things be since it seems to work fine as it is?!

ok just joined here today and i know more then i could ever want. ok my question is 1st, is my garmin 205w compadable with garmin loader software for poi?

2nd, after loading a poi file, how will it work? i just setup a root like normal and the, say speedcam spots will just show up on my root with some kind of warning?

Garmin has released software updates for the Nuvi 800 series via webupdater, I noticed it has not released as a download as of yet, only via webupdater. I notice when I hooked up my 880 to receive the update, it said 850 so I have decided to hold off to see if another updated will be available soon. These are the changes:

Hey I was wondering as I read as many of these threads, if it is possible to set a how to area on this forum to where you can input you model of GPS and find out everything there is on how it works and how to load stuff on it. I see there is alot of the same questions being asked and I know there is a search but you have to read so much your eyes start to cross.

I, unfortunately, have a 300 series device and therefore cannot use the voice. However, I wanted to share it with others.

I have a garmin 330C and would like to know if there is a way to modify the alert sound on my unit. I wanted a different sound so I would be able to reconize it for the speed cameras.

I have downloaded a poi file (Walmart) and th barmin poiloader. But the loader can not find the file I downloaded to put on the Nuvi T755T. What did I do wrong?

im going to FL this winter for 2 weeks so i boght a gramin 255w gps for my truck. i live in troy ny in upstate ny and will be driving down the east coast and back the same way. i just heard about speed cams and was wondering if there is something i can download and install in my gps to tell me where this speedcams are.

I recently made a trip to Arizona. Before leaving I downloaded the New speed and red light files (19'th of November 2008). For some reason at every red light and speed camera,my nuvi 750 would start ringing and alert me that the speed was 12MPH. If I look at the file (Speed Camera) It show's anywhere between 30 and 75 MPH What is the problem. Nowhere do i see 12 MPH in the file.

As I read the many informative posts here, I frequently come across the fact that the recommended icon size for custom POI's is 16x16, 18x18, 22x22 or 24x24.

Is this a limitation that needs to be adhered to?

Is it a technical/display limitation?

Or a consistency limitation in terms of sharing bmp icons with the members?

One of the major electronics retailers is running a special this week on an 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC card. SDHC is a "Secure Digital High Capacity" card, and fits in any "traditional" SD card slot. The packaging for this product warns that SDHC cards will only work in products that support them.

New to the site, first post so go gentle on me. Just got my new Garmin 750. I've been reading FAQ's and already learned a lot. I have a older Garmin 76S that I purchased Mapsource for. Can I make a route in this older version of Mapsource (V 4.13), then load on the 750. Couldn't find it in FAQ. I created a route on the 750 itself and think I found a XML file that is that route.

i was driving around today and noticed a new rlc how do i post it or do i just give the coords.i am not sure if someone else has put it on here yet.and i am not sure how to post it either

You can have various mapsets loaded on your nuvi...not just the basemap and detail map. These mapsets all reside in the x:/Garmin folder on both the nuvi drive and the SD Card drive. The nuvi 7x0 can access up to six different mapsets (*one* on the SD Card). The nuvi 7x5 can access up to nine different mapsets (*one* on the SD Card)

Example:

Do I need to convert vehicles with a jpg extension downloaded from Garmin Garage to file with a .srf extension before using on a NUVI 350?
If I do, how is the conversion done?
Apologies if this has been addressed previously.

I just read that Nuvi 760 has "Speed limit display for many interstates and highways" feature. How do you enable it? Does it work in Canada? I have Nuvi 760 for more than two weeks now but never seen it on the display.
