Garmin has released update firmware for the Nuvi 13xx and 14xx models. The firmware can be obtained using webupdater or a direct download from:

The change log reads:

Firmware 3.40

Changes made from version 3.30 to 3.40:
* Enhanced ecoRoute experience.

Just pulled the trigger myself--refurbished 765T for $188 + free 2 day shipping with Amazon prime. Given that the maps on my Nuvi 360 are two years old and Garmin wants $80 to update them, I'm basically getting a new full-featured GPS for $100....

So far I really like the 765T--lot's of great features!

can anyone tell me if this unit gives the street name plus the route number, when you are following a route to a destination, and if not are there any garmin units that do. also would like to know if it has a reverse route button .

I have a Nuvi 750 running firmware 4.10. I would like to add an SD card for MP3's. Does anyone know if firmware 4.10 will read the SDHC format? The Garmin website recommends updating to the latest firmware, but I have read too many complaints about v 4.90 locking up.

It only turns off in about 2 minutes after tapping in a POI or destination. If I use it without going to a specific destination it stays on continously.
Seems to have happened after downloading some of the various optional vehicles in the travel screen. I took it back to Sam's and got a new one but I'm afraid to download any more of those optional vehicles.

I have a qustion if anyone can answer for me. I have a garmin c300 and it uses CVS file format. I now have another one. Does anyone know what file format the nuvii 465t use thnx

I purchased a 255w on Ebay with preloaded US maps (it works perfectly!!) as I was doing a roadtrip in the US, and I live in Australia, so now I have returned home from a terrific trip and wish to buy some Aussie maps, which seem to be loaded on a SD card.

Bought a Garmin Nuvi 1300T at Best Buy. We went in for a Europe map card else and saw this on sale so bought it as a spur-of-moment purchase. Went home to register it, but you cannot register unless you have it connected to your pc. Luckily I found the cable for my old 340 and surprisingly, it worked for the new GPS as well.

I plan to use my shiny new Etrek Vista HCx on a Cape cruise in a month. With the option to store track logs on the micro-SD data card, I'll easily have enough track log capacity for the whole trip. But I don't yet see a good way to combine the daily log files.

so im trying to put unlocked maps on a sd card for my nuvi 260w. I renamed the mapprom.img to mapsupp.img and loaded it on a sd card. the nuvi wont see any of the maps. any suggestions? thanks

Does anyone know if there is a way to report problems with a map, or actually it's interpretation. HOV lanes in VA are set at different times and the GPS have the times wrong so the unit constantly routes you off of the HOV lane when it is open for travel. I have noticed that it routes me on the HOV on the weekends when it is always open.

Should I get a screen protector for the 755t, especially from the lady users. My nails are short, but my gf are a bit longer.

How do custom POI files work if i set my garmin to go somewere ( not using the custom files ) Will they automaticly let me know if i am near a place in my custom file? Or do i have to click on the custom file link. Thanks

There have been various nuvi updates released for different series/units in the past few days, of which none to my knowledge have actually been "firmware" or unit software updates.

One has been voice updates for various units which I reported here:

I see target will have nuvi 1350 for $179 black friday.
It seems like a great price for a new model.
I currently have nuvi 750. I have no problems with it. I can use the lane assistance on the 1350.

Any good or bad comments on the 1350?
Should I upgrade or wait for a better model?

Hi all,

Anyone else having issues with the 4.90 software on the nuvi's? My GPS after the "upgrade" is now freezing more and when i turn off my car my nuvi just shuts down. It doesnt ask to stay on battery power. It does this now 50% of the time when I turn off the car.
I am thinking its due to the 4.90. Anyone else having similar problems?

With my newly acquired Garmin 1690, the latest among their units, has a lot of problems which I encountered:
1. It cannot be registered & be updated...after the downloading and updating of the software, it doesn't restart itself after being disconnected from the computer as per instruction. What I did, I manually restart it and upon checking if it was updated, it did not nor registered.
