Garmin talk

When my Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S was returned recently, I brought it out to my pickup truck to compare setting with my Garmin Nuvi 3597. I noticed the at the Elevation displayed on each unit was not the same.

Has anybody else here compared the Elevation displayed with more than one device? Were the results similar or did they vary from one another quite a bit?

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR MY GARMIN TO ANNOUNCE SPEED CAMERA OR RED LIGHT CAMERAS WHEN I APPROACH THEM INSTEAD OF JUST A BEEP AND IF YES DO I HAVE TO PROGRAM IT EVERYTHING I DOWNLOAD UPDATES TO MY GARMIN.

Happy 4th of July!

I just upgraded to the new Zumo XT from my 660, and gosh the display is awesome. No more having to wear dark shirts, .

However, in typical Garmin fashion, the software is a little crude with little documentation. During set up, it tells you to install Drive and Explore, but when you set up Explore, it says it would work with the XT. How normal for these guys.

Just got a Garmin Drivesmart 65. Prior to this I have always loaded GPX files from Historical Marker Database unto my Garmin units. With this one, I get an error saying the files are invalid.

Anyone know anything about it or experience the same thing?

My BC-30 Camera has, all of a sudden, "decided" to display a mirror image of what it sees. Has anyone else experienced that and have any ideas on how to resolve it?

I installed the new version of Google earth pro on my computer and the '‘View on Google earth'’ function stop working on Map Source. I get the following message ‘'This function requires the installation of Google earth''.

Ottawa, On is about to get speed cameras. I've noticed there are several icons for different speeds. Is there one icon that will work at any speed alert, or just at specific speeds?

Well with all this Covid 19 nobody remembered to ask when the new Garmin 2021.20 map will come out?

Quite a while back I was pulling my hair out trying to install some maps to a Garmin Astro 220 with Basecamp 4.7.2 only to eventually learn that there was a bug in that version and it would not work. I rolled it back to version 4.7.1 so I have that functionality. Did they ever fix that problem in 4.7.2, or do I still have to stay with 4.7.1?

With all that's going on with the pandemic, there's apparently not a big market for GPS sellers and also a slackening of eBay sales.

We have reversible lanes in Atlanta. My Garmin GPS (65 w/ Alexa) does not handle this well. It'll see me on the lane, not give me a "wrong way" indication, which is good, but will try to route me by having me do sharp turns, going the wrong way down on-ramps (at that time) to get off that set of HOT lanes and onto the regular interstate.

I'm hoping they fix this, soon.

As far as I can tell, it's just been a few days since Basecamp fpr Windows has an update from 4.7.1 to 4.7.2. I apologize if this has already been reported.

I'm running an Android 9.0 smartphone.
Whenever I activate Bluetooth, Smartlink comes on automatically. Whenever I turn off Bluetooth, Smartlink continues to run.
Is there a way to stop Smartlink from running automatically?
The only way I've found so far is to reboot my phone with Bluetooth disabled prior to reboot.

Yesterday I noticed that my Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S will no longer power up. What works bertter for Garmin Support these days, an email or a telephone call? (Does it matter?) It is no longer under warranty. Am I wasting my time and their time?

I obviously have not been paying close attention. I just saw that Garmin has 10 inch navigators. I had no idea.

Does anybody know what the limit is on trips on the Zumo XT? I know using my Drivesmart 65 it breaks up my trips if they exceed 30 way points. My understanding is this unit uses "explore" vs. basecamp. And the limits were 100 or so per trips. Does anybody know if future automotive products will also use Explore?

Garmin Express v7.0.0.0 ready to download.

Is there any reason why a Dezl 770 is "Greyed Out" & not opaque like my Nuvi 2797 in Garmin Express? I've tried to delete the GarminDevice.xml file & Current.gpx file but curiously they come back with the same timestamp of February 13th 2020 which should they not repopulate whatever the current time is?
