stuck

I used task manager to kill GE opened GE back up and it picked up where it left off.
Changes since I last updated.

Updated to Win 10 2004 this week!

1st time I updated over WIFI always used Ethernet but PC in new location.

Normal update 45 min max 1.2 hrs to complete.

Started at 40mbs download now at 4.5 and 48.5% complete.

1st time I have had a problem going back years even before GE was usable.
Going good speed up to 7mbs and 75% complete.

UPDATE: Completed not tested.

You have a few things to do:

1) Set up your computer (PC or Mac):

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/30393

2) Follow the FAQ to see the .system folder:

http://www.poi-factory.com/garmin/problemsolver#system-folde...

3) Switch your GPS from MTP to MS mode:

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/41416

Some of the above links overlap in advice. When you've done all that, look in the .system folder for the file gmapprom.img which will be a LARGE file. That is the map file for your device's Garmin map.

If you use a PC and think you've done all the above but still can't see a .system folder, a common cause is forgetting to make sure that check box next to “Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)” is NOT selected.

Good luck. Report back with your results or questions. And welcome to The Factory!

Mine did the same thing

Go back in and click Get Updates on GE. It should pick up where it left off.
