DriveSmart 55 and GPX file

Hi, Having trouble reading my GPX file. The way I have done it for close to a year is connect the unit to the computer find the GPX folder and copy it to my hard drive. After that I would use MapSource to open the GPX file.

The last time it worked was 8/23/20 with GPS version 9.00. Also on that day I updated the GPS to 9.10. GPS seemed fine until today when I tried to open the file. Mapsource and Basecamp indicates the file has a problem.

I renamed the GPX folder in the GPS, turned the unit off then back on and it still will not read the file that is in the new GPX folder that the GPS created.

Has anyone else tried this with the DriveSmart 55 at 9.10?

Thank you for your help,
Mark

Doesn't work

I tried that way back and that just doesn't work. You can run express on the old gps and back it up and restore it onto your new one. I wouldn't hesitate to try picking that file up with express.
Its a gpx file, i think you can point to it and it will transfer it. Hook the new gps up and try to import it.

There is only one GPS I am

There is only one GPS I am working with. The only thing that I know changed was the software of the unit went from 9.00 to 9.10. You mentioned express is that the program Garmin Express? I did not see how to select files with it, I am on a PC.

Thanks.

I looked in the backup

I looked in the backup folder and found the GPX folder and files however when I try to open the file with Mapsource or BaseCamp it will not open. MapSource error says not a valid MapSource file. My GPX file from 8/23/2020 will open just fine, but it was created with the GPS at version 9.0 the unit is now at 9.10. What I am after is the track log. Is it saved some place else in the GPS?

Thanks.

Well

If you're after the track log it's not in current.gpx

You should be able to view it in BaseCamp with your device connected

If BaseCamp isn't seeing your data after a software update next thing to do is a master reset.
