I have a zumo, I have gotten to the point of the POI loader, don't know where to put the poi files?
please advise

im a bit confused...?
I have 4 seperate list poi's under "custom poi".
If i upload any others, they are not added.
Am i doing something wrong or do i need to use the
sd card slot?

I am trying to get the wav sound file from this site to load with the rest area poi file. All files are named exactly the same plus the appropriate extention. Sox.exe and all related files are in the folder with POILoader. The computer is running Win7 64bit- POILoader starts with no problem.

The 1490T has Voice Dial through bluetooth. Does this only work if the cell phone also has voice dial? I have a my phone paired with the 1490T and when I select voice dial on the Garmin I get a blank screen on the Garmin that says Cancel on bottom. No matter what I speak at the Garmin nothing happens - my cell phone does not have voice dial on its own.

I entered the addresses of all the Christmas decorations prize winners in Aledo. I transferred only the waypoints to my nuvi with Mapsource. I created a new route using those waypoints on my unit. I have u-turn avoidances checked, but no matter what route preferences I check, the route tells me to u-turn at two locations. Why doesn't it route me to go around the block?

I put the SD card in. It appeared on my computer as Drive F - not "Garmin SD" as I have seen on posts in this forum. The card is readable from the computer and also the Garmin as I installed Custom POIs to the card by creating a folder myself on the card called Custom POI's and then when the unit turned on asked if I wanted to load them to the unit. So the they are there.

anyone know how to get video into a garmin 650 I would like to use it as a backup monitor also as well as GPS.

The card went in. Shows up on the computer as a drive. But I cannot get the card back out of the Garmin. I push on the side of the card and it just stays in. Nothing to grab to pull out. What do I do to get the card out?

I was in Austin, TX this week and being totally unfamiliar with the area I was dependent on my GPS unit. All was going well until she had me exit the freeway, stop at the light then proceed to reenter the freeway. I got specific instructions for both the exit and entry ramp. After that all was fine. Have you ever seen this?

Hello, I did a search to see if we have a classified section. Apparently the quick answer is no. Just wonder if anyone can recommend a place that sell just the cradle for cheap? I don't mind an used cradle if someone has one for sale? Thank you!

Last post on this topic was in 2008 so I thought I'd share my recent experiences. Since I have a long commute and frequently make long weekend trips, I thought I'd give audio books a try. I found that my Garmin (755t) only supports AA audio books but most of the free downloads are either mp3 or m4b format.

Garmin has created an open site for geocachers. I'm a little surprised they've made their own site after working with geocaching.com over the years.

After downloading some POIs including Redlight cameras and Speed cameras to my Nuvi 660 I am now getting some speed warnings as I travel about town. There are no speed cameras in use in my area so I am not sure what is causing it. I get a warning tone a red banner and a 11mph speed alert when this happens. Any idea on what may be causing this?

I am a huge fan of the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. So, I loaded this CVS file and the icon onto my Garmin 1350.

I am fairly new to actively using custom POI's so I apologize for the dumb question which is "How do you use and how can you recognize the POI is the result of one of the custome POI files"?

the only way to get my custom poi's to work on my 4gb sd card with my nuvi 1490t, is to set alert for distance only,poi's will not work when trying to set alert for speed with poi loader.when setting alert using speed alert, it will show poi on unit, but will not show the go to button.any ideas to make poi"s work using speed alert, in stead of distance alert?? thanks.

With the good discussion about attempting to force the GPS to go a certain desired route and how challenging that can be, I wondered about the option called "Calculation Method" which sets how the unit searches for the route using the following criteria:

1. Quickest Calculation: Calculates the route the quickest, but might not produce the best route.

I have a nuvi 250 and up until now I've had a couple of topo maps that I got from GPSFileDepot on it, one on a 1 gig SD memory card and another in the available internal memory of the nuvi. I could select between the main map or either of the two topo maps (for different areas). I didn't have enough memory for more maps.

I have updated my software (version 3.60) and my firmware is version 2.60.

My maps are updated to CN North America NT 2011.30.

When I turn on my unit I get the message "Cannot Authenticate Maps"

Several months ago I had to purchase a new Garmin as my 2720 power cord broke while on a trip. The 2720 GPS had a selection for routing that I could choose between a truck and car. The truck option seems to keep us out of areas that a camper (5th wheel and truck) did not need to be like downtown Savannah, Georgia on Abercorn drive.
