I have a Garmen nuvi 265WT. I just downloaded the updates and new maps for 2011. In mygarmin.com, I tried to download some extras. It said there are none for this device. I thought that was a little strange. Then, when I started looking through the gps afterwards, my extras option is there, but has no data. Why is there no data, and why can't I download new stuff into my extras? I don't know what else to try at this point. Any information would be great!

Get a manual...
by going to
https://buy.garmin.com/support/manuals/manuals.htm?partNo=01...
and downloading the PDF.
Then go to page 46 to read up on custom POIs which you load and then access under "Extras".
Also suggest doing a backup of you unit.

If you are just getting statred here are a few things that you need to install to your computer.
1.Poiloader for custom pois http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/
2.Webupdater for latest updates http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp
3.Communicator plugin to send data http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/products/communicator
You can also install custom pois to your unit.Files on site for download.Need poiloader to install them.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for instructions.
Later on you will need to add this tool if you get into custom pois. http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor
