Australian Maps

My job is taking me to Australia after the holidays (Melbourne primarily). I'll be spending most of January there. Garmin wants $130 or so for Australian maps. Since it's not likely I'll be returning (at least not anytime soon) it's difficult to justify $130 for 3 or 4 weeks of use. Do I have any options that would let me use my 885T? Someone told me Garmin sells time limited copies of maps. I see nothing on the web. Does anyone know of this?

Another option
In addition to MM's free maps, another option is to buy the Garmin map on a microSD/SD card, use it for a month, then resell it on eBay or craigslist.
Unlike downloaded or DVD maps which are tied to a particular GPS unit once installed, the official Garmin-made maps on microSD/SD cards are tied to the card, allowing them to be used by any GPS that can handle the Australian map and that has a SD card slot:

You will pay full price from Garmin (or a discounted price if you can find it on Amazon or whatever) but there's the option of recouping your money when you sell the no-longer-needed map.
On the other hand, you can look yourself on eBay or craigslist and try to find someone who's selling his/her genuine-Garmin map on SD card of Australia. If so, be sure to confirm from the seller that this is a genuine Garmin-made map-on-SD card and isn't a copy made to SD card. (I see some being offered on eBay right now.)
