Dont remember when , but on this forum someone talked about making your own screen when the unit boots up .

Did a quick check and the 1390T is available for pre-order from amazon with an available date of May 20, 2009.

Costco Online has the Garmin Nuvi 780 for sale for $249.00 ($349.00 less $100.00) Looks like a good buy.

I check for Garmin updates when I update my red light and speed camera POIs every Wednesday. I see an additional update titled "Localization Data, XML file"n when I access WebUpdater. I have a 765T. Does anyone know what that update does and should I add it to my unit? Appreciate any help.

Well we are now into March and if things go as last year we should be hearing rumors of Garmin 2010 map updates.

Hello...........trying to learn how to set up my garmin (nuvi 200w) so that the speed alerts come on when necessary. I downloaded certain poi's and I can see them, but am confused as how to set them to work when the time comes.........is this done automatically when downloaded into the device and the fact that the sound is on?

I was trying to edit a "callable" telephone number of a favorite saved with Garmin Mobile XT, but I can't seem to find out how to do it. I have tried under Mapsource, but it doesn't seem to offer that as an option. I can save the number as test, but I can't get the phone symbol and have it call from the phone.

anyone know if I can load the Nuvi 255 firmware on my 250? I want some of the new ecofuel features...i dont see why u need the new hardware for this to work.

Well, I guess it's time I start an official thread about Extra_POI_Editor at POI Factory.

It does too many things for me to explain in a short post, so let's say it will allow you to view, edit and convert (new!) any GPX/CSV/OV2/JPG/KML/MGLN POI file to GPX/CSV/OV2/KML. Yes! Geocoded JPG can be imported too!

Anyone know how to add a new POI for a new speed trap that just went up on my street for a garmin nuvi 350?

When you enter a destination to navigate to, and 255w navigates you there, does the navigation stop? Do you have to go into the menu and stop it on the main menu screen?

I tried sending an email to support, and they don't even read what I sent, they didn't get the type of garmin I had right. So I plan on calling them and see what they say.

I was really excited to travel to Seattle and Vancouver with my new Nuvi 760 this past week. I loaded a speed trap and red light camera file, a Starbuck POI and installed all of the upgrades. I was expecting this thing to tell me exactly where to go. I soon found out that it would not be so straight forward.

I just bought a radar detector and Escort have a nice doodad to wire it directly to the fuse box.

Is there a similar item for the Garmins? As the cigarette lighter adapter has a fuse in it I'm assuming that this would be needed in the direct-to-fuse box solution too.

Any youtube video's or DIY pages anywhere?

Upon running the POI loader it does not give me the option of identifying files to load into my NUVI 760. Program runs so fast I cannot identify what it has loaded. Any suggestions?

I've been searching online for info on the 885T but found very little useful info from actual users so I'm hoping that somebody here actually has this device.

Ok, I have been out of the whole GPSr scene for awhile. However, I want to buy a new GPSr that has the same features as my 350 and more (such as PSL). Which one is the best to get?
