I have a Nuvi 50LM. When I try to load a POI file it shows on my computer as having been loaded, but when I power up the GPS I can not find them. This model does not have a port for a SD Card. Is it not possible to load files to the GPS's internal memory.

I am again struggling with Mapsource. My old computer is dying and I have made the transition to a new Toshiba that came with Windows 8 whether or not I wanted it. I do not like windows 8 simply because of the learning curve. I do not want to start yet another one.

I keep getting speed alerts for 2kph, 4kph etc. what's with that?

I have two Garmin navigators (2597, 2495). When comparing the estimated driving time between the two units I get considerable differences. They suggest the same route, have the same 2014.20 maps, the latest firmware, no traffic activated, newly reset, no myTrends etc activated yet the estimated travel time differs 5 minutes on a 20 min drive. Thats an estimation difference of 25% .

Can anyone tell me how I can replace a built-in alert, like "Home... on left" with my own custom mp3 file?

Also, how can I match up a custom POI with a built-in icon, e.g. an ATM with the dollar-sign icon, etc.?

I have a Garmin Nuvi 295w. I want to splice in, connect to the supplied Tom Tom wire (hardwired from factory on motorcycle) that is outputting 5V with 2 wires 1blue, 1 green. The Nuvi mini usb has 1red,1black, 1 white.

I just returned from a trip out to New England. 2 messages popped up on my Garmin 1450 that I never have seen before. They started in Kennebunkport, ME. The first said "4 MPH speed alert ahead." The second said "4 MPH speed alert." I had them pop up later in other small towns in ME, NH and VT. After leaving VT I never had them again in NY, PA, OH etc.

I don't know quite what to make of this. I got a virus warning, specifically a Trojan warning, on one of TurboCC's programs on an AVG scan last night.

So I really like the myTrends feature as it tells me how long it's going to take for me to get where I want to go in the morning/evening/lunchtime. But once it tells me, it doesn't seem to update as I drive. Worse off, if I want to go somewhere else tonight (and I know where I'm going, say, to a coffee shop first on the way home) it no longer tells me what the cross street is at the top bar.

Is it normal for an 855 to save several 'Last Position' entries.

Mine has about 25 in All Favourites

So our newest GPS like all other new garmins does not say recalculating. Is there any workaround for this? What an easy fix an 'on off' button would have been..

The power cord to my Garmin Nuvi 1390 needs to be replaced.
If anyone has an an old one for sale, or knows of an inexpensive site to get one I'd appreciate the info.

The tiny wires are exposed through the cord at the base of the metal plug. Not sure why, how this happened. All I know is that it won't power up unless I wiggle it around, then it shuts off.

May be more to the built in School zones then discussed previously. Driving down 58w about 20 miles before you get to Emporia VA.Anyone who has driven this route knows not much located in this stretch.

Do any of the new Garmin Nuvis display next street up? Not those visible at some zoom level but on one of the display bars top or bottom when not on a route.

I know FAT32 formatted SD cards will be read by the Nuvi but has anyone tried formatting a card using exFAT? Haven't gotten around to it and was wondering if it was a compatible file system (yet).

I own a Garmin 1490lMT. Will the latest map update and new large JCV files fit on a 4gb card or should I use larger card.

I have a brand new 4gb card that I would like to use if possible.
