Is it normal for an 855 to save several 'Last Position' entries.

Mine has about 25 in All Favourites

My 500 saves 'last searched'

Not sure if that's the correct terminology, but after I look for a place either by address, or intersection, that location will appear in the 'My Favorites' with a simple number for the name.

yes

Everytime the unit turns off because off loss of power (or you tell it to shutdown from the screen) it saves a 'Last Position.' Turn the unit off with the power switch before the cigarette lighter plug loses power and it won't save a last position.

when that happens and say you flew from LA to NY and you can't get a signal, it's like all the favorites are 2700 miles away

True

I shut mine off in Vegas, flew home and turned it on a month later, and I was looking at a map of McCarren Airport on Long Island... until the satellites synced up.
