My Garmins were not showing the 2019.1 updates available today. I called Garmin and they told me the update was temporally pulled today because of problems.

So, I wonder if that means there will be a 2019.11 map version released? Garmin has done something similar to that a couple of times in the past when a map version had to be pulled.

I wonder if the problem is with the servers/downloading as opposed to the map itself.

New Map

I just now noticed this message.

Thanks for the heads up !

Didn't say

The guy at Garmin said it was pulled because of problems and didn't specify if it was with the map or the servers.

2019.10 Is Available - Not

As of today, seems my 3590LMT is 'up to date' with 2018.30, are any of you experiencing problems with the latest 2019.10?

Tried that, disconnect, reboot, twice.

Garmin Express shows software version 8.30 and full coverage of NA 2018.30.

Same thing when I go to MapInstall, up to date.

Well ...

In the past that's what happens. Expect a 2019.11 smile

Leaves us wondering what problem(s) we ended up installing on our units!?!

2019.10

I downloaded and installed on both of my 3590 units with no problem.

Even replaced the standard JCV file with the "Large" JCV file.

I don't see any mention of 2018.11 being available.
I just checked and still shows 2018.10 option to reinstall that map.

"error installing update'

I received the same error on installing with an older Dell Studio 17. Maps updated on 1450 but failed on Dell with no maps showing in BaseCamp or Mapsource. Also GE corrupted 2018.1 during install.

Next attempt was with Dell 6430 and my 3597. Same error, maps worked on 3597 and Mapsource.

Tried Studio 17 with 3597 again, same error no no maps on Mapsource. Is it possible to get 2018.* back?

School Zones

Thought I'd add that after this latest map update: still no school zone updates. (New England area) Keep hoping we might get them up here and they'd appear on the Nuvi, but starting to look like it's not to be.

Original Map

Was there something wrong with the original map? Or does anyone know what changed in the 2nd revised version. I’m still using the original map with the 1st large JCV file that was posted in my 1390T.

Stay with what you have.

I don't think Garmin has ever said what was wrong with the original release. That said, I am planning to stick with the original January release unless I see some evidence of problems with my 3 nuvi's.

Thanks for the quick reply alandb. Yeah, I've been using the original on mine since it came out and haven't noticed any problems. Large JCV is also working fine so I think I'll take your advise and keep it for now.

Same here in the north east

Yeah one school around the corner from me in a north east city still isn't giving a warning on my Nuvi with the 2019.10 map update. More than once I've driven through other school zones and sometimes my Nuvi alerts, sometimes not.

Updated!

Finally updated mu Nuvi 50.

The only 'problem' I had was that it took 4 tries to get my laptop to recognize the Nuvi in Garmen Express mode, and not switch from Garmin Express to the regular operational screen.

I could not know where the download file is

Can someone please point it to me. Sorry I am new to this subject.

Welcome to The Factory. Since you're posting on the Garmin Forum regarding the latest map update, I assume you have a Garmin GPS and that the GPS is a LM or LMT model meaning that it has lifetime map updates. What you need to do is download the Garmin Express program to your computer:

https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express

then connect the GPS to the computer with a USB cable and run Garmin Express. Once there, you have the ability to register your device, download and install any available software updates, download and install map updates, etc.

One thing to keep in mind. A Garmin GPS that has gone more than two years between map updates may lose its lifetime subscription. Since map updates come out roughly three times a year, it shouldn't be a problem keeping your subscription.

Stick around. This site has a lot to offer. I see that your profile is set up and all I can suggest is that you may want to add your GPS model so that if important to answering your questions, we'll know what you have.

No Problem

Finally installed. No problems at all.
