Nuvi price is dropping fast.

It is the time!

They were sold at a loptop price (350 $450-$550; 360 $550-650).

Since the "generic" GPS (such as MIO C310X) have been sold for under $200. The pressure is building up. Recently, Costco started selling 350 for $350, Amerzon is following. Last time I checked, a 360 is for ~$460. Another $50 drop will make these units more reasonablly priced.

Fry's ran the Nuvi 200 on one day sale for $129 (same price online plus good price on 2000W as well.) I took the add to Best Buy where it was on sale for $219. They matched the price and I save a 45 minute drive.

Good reason not to follow this thread. Prices are always going to drop and someone else will always be getting a better deal than the one you and I got on our units. No sense being upset about it. The only thing it will accomplish is to make your day worse.

Not a Nuvi, but a C340

Topic is for Nuvi prices dropping. I didn't want to start another topic thread, so I thought I would post this here. In this morning's Brads Deals email:
Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS Unit $164

Buy.com has the Garmin StreetPilot c340 Portable GPS System on sale for $164.38 shipped via Electronica Direct. The device features a 2.8" LCD display, preloaded maps of the US, Canada, Puerto Rico (2D or 3D) with millions of points of interest (restaurants, fuel, hotels, ATMs), turn-by-turn vocal directions, SD card reader, and more. There's no tax (except CA, MA, MD, TN), new Buy.com users can use this $5 off $100 coupon, and new Google Checkout users can get an additional $10 discount for signing up (you can't get both).

On May 23rd I bought a 750 from navguys.com for $334, no tax (NH) no shipping. It was shipped same day and arrived two business days after purchase. The day after I ordered it they dropped the price to $319 and would not credit me with the difference.

Be Happy

I think the best thing to do after buying something is to not go back and look at pricing. Even more so if you bought right after a current price drop.. Remember pricing will continue to fluctuate, especially on electronic items. It seems there is no rhyme or reason to pricing anymore. All you will do is make yourself upset if the price has dropped.

--
Bobby....Garmin 2450LM

I think it depends..

Some merchants have price guarantees and they will give you the difference if you see it at a lower price...

Others have excellent return policies so you can return it and then re-purchase it at the reduced price...

Defenitely crazy

Prices are downright weird. I got my Nuvi 260 a couple of weeks ago at Amazon for $204. Now it's up to around $224, but they have the 350 for $199. It was about $250 or more when I got my 260. Just insane.

I have the Nuvi 350. I saw the price on the 760 and considering it (basically for the multiple routes option), but just wondering if it has an internal antenna or do you have to flip the antenna up in the back to use it like on my 350? It's kina a pain to have to keep doing it.

The Garmin Nuvi 750 is currently available at Sam's Club for $300. It lacks a few features from the 760 and 770, but this unit is a nice package at $300. The nuvi 700 series was recently rated tops in Consumer Reports.

I bought the Nuvi 680 at costco on line last Nov. for $500. The tip on the car charger broke off so I took it back to my local store yesterday and they sold me a new one for $379.04 tax, title, and license. Then refunded me $547.78 from my original purchase. They refunded the tax and shipping too. Ya just can't beat that with a stick.

When GPS's first came out, the prices were crazy. Like any other new electronic toy, the companies making them were able to charge what they wanted.

Delorme, Garmin, Magellan had the market cornered for a lot of years. when SiRF technology came about it opened the door to the SO CALLED GENERIC GPSr's,
and the market hasn't been the same since. The technology made the unit faster at locking satellites and smaller so you can even put them in your shirt pocket. Also putting GPSr's in the hands of blue collar workers or even the poor for the first time.

As the market floods the companies have to give in and lower the prices to stay competitive. So don't be surprised to see most GPSr's under $200 bucks even fully loaded. Looks like half of Garmins line is already under $200 bucks.

And as always with electronic gear, don't be concerned when you see your GPS selling for 20% less than the price you paid last week, it will drive you mad and straight to the men in those nice white coats. And we wouldn't want that, you would be gone from POI-Factoy for a real long time.

Can anyone help me.
A have a shipping adress in Miami and Paypal

you may be able to join...

Go to Costco.com and see... You may find that the cost of joining offsets the price of the unit. But you may be able to find the same deal online at amazon or similar sites with free shipping and no sales tax. The nice thing about Costco is there return policy, particulary if you have a nearby store...

Nuvi 760 for $300-$310

There are two ways of knocking another $40-$50 from the already low Nuvi 760 prices

1) Buy from CC, apply $40-off coupon, show them a printout of BB's price and ask them to match it. Net price is $310, I just got one today
http://dealspl.us/rb2.php?cid=1494

2) If your local BB has it in stock, buy from them for $350, apply a $50 Rewards Zone coupon that can be located with a simple Google search. Net price is a rock-bottom (at the moment) $300, but very few BB's have the 760 in stock

Thanks.
