Nuvi price is dropping fast.

It is the time!

They were sold at a loptop price (350 $450-$550; 360 $550-650).

Since the "generic" GPS (such as MIO C310X) have been sold for under $200. The pressure is building up. Recently, Costco started selling 350 for $350, Amerzon is following. Last time I checked, a 360 is for ~$460. Another $50 drop will make these units more reasonablly priced.

Am I waiting to boxing day?

Nuvi 250 or 760 ?
<160 or < 260 ?

prices

I've been watching the 660 and 650, hoping to get a 650 at less than $160 or $150 (otherwise don't really need it). The price hasn't really budged off of 199, but all of a sudden the 760 is being sold for $290 at some places...that's less than what I paid for the 660 just 3 mos. ago.

Wish these prices were

Yep, the price does dop fast

My 2720 went on sale for $499 and I bought it immediately. Turned out it was because the unit was to be discontinued. It really makes no difference as I can still upgrade the map and it works flawlessly.

When looking for a 760 for the wife, the price dropped ~$70 within a couple months of our initial search.

Walmart, Fry's Nuvi

Fry's just told me they were selling Nuvii (plural of Nuvi wink ) at List Price but that they were "not making much on them". Hmmm. My local WallyWorld has only 2xx/W models in stock but the Walmart website lists lots. Had to edumacate the salesmen at Fry's - a gaggle of them couldn't tell me which did "Warn me when speeding", so I left empty-handed. Good thing, 'cuz now I'll just sit back and watch prices fall!

660 and 760 officially about the same

On the amazon website, the 660 is 274, and the 760 is 279. I still would like the 650 to drop because as a 660 owner, I feel the fm transmitter, traffic, bluetooth, are all useless features, so why pay for them! But the 760 seems like it's at the price point now...

Actually, I got mine through (a random compeitor from amazon), and I got it a few weeks earlier than amazon and for about the same price (+ $10 or so). I got the Garmin 775tw (I think). So far, so good with it.

Do you like it. Where did you get it? How much did you pay? I am waiting till the price goes down.

Well, $199 for a 750 at Costco may just have me sending the 755 back and use the $300 difference on Christmas or other needs.

I think I ordered the nuvi 760 from that Amazon page for $249 free shipping, brand new. After seeing the huge inflated prices, $250-range seems pretty good.

Still, if I decide to buy another GPS in 4-5 years, I'd rather not pay more than $150....

Get Microsoft Cashback for an Ebay Buy It Now item. Cashback has been as high as 30% back as of yesterday morning but looks like it is 20% now. Still a 760 can be had for ~$199 with free shipping from the buy.com ebay site.

Basic Instructions:
1. sign up for a Windows Live ID at live.com
2. sign into account.
3. search for the item (nuvi 760) in the search window at live.com

6. Look for trusted ebay site such as buy.com (price before Cashback is $249.99)
7. Buy item. Someone mentioned Ebay & Paypal accounts must be linked and use the same email address. I forget how I linked the two accounts but it was probably done in my ebay account.

I have been following the prices for the 765t and the 775t and it is really strange how they go down and then up again. I guess I will wait until after Christmas to see where they finally fall.

I get concerned

that the 760 will be discontinued and supplies will drop....prices often move upwards as the unit become scarce.

Yeah, but I'd have to factor in the 5% local sales tax making it more $$$ than Amazon.

Good point! It's even worse here as we have 6% sales tax.

where is it selling for $350. The best I saw was $419.

765T vs 760

760 is $259.72 online & the 765T is $427.55

Is the 765T worth the extra $177?

What extras does it have over the 760?

Keep searching LC, you can find better pricing. I paid $244 for the 760 at Electronica.com (via Amazon) a month ago. There are probably better deals now.

Check Garmin's website where you can compare models side by side.

Edit, I did it for you.

The 765T is slightly heavier than the 760 and has a couple of hours less battery life (in ideal conditions). The "T" allows 1000 waypoints, the 760, 500. Here's the biggie. The "T" has lane assist, which means if you're on a multi lane highway and you have a lane change ahead the GPS will (in some circumstances) recommend you be in a specific lane. It'll be shown visually on the screen. The "T" also offers 3D buildings on the display, handy, I guess, to find landmarks if you're in an unfamiliar downtown area. Finally the "T" allows downloading of Geotag photos. If you're fond of chasing after other people's coordinates actually having a picture on the screen might be helpful.

Only you can determine whether you'd use the added features.

Cheers
