Nuvi price is dropping fast.

It is the time!

They were sold at a loptop price (350 $450-$550; 360 $550-650).

Since the "generic" GPS (such as MIO C310X) have been sold for under $200. The pressure is building up. Recently, Costco started selling 350 for $350, Amerzon is following. Last time I checked, a 360 is for ~$460. Another $50 drop will make these units more reasonablly priced.

Cheap Nuvi 350

I got mine from buydig for $250 about 3 weeks ago and looked tonight and it's now down to $227.

Garmin Nuvi 660 at Amazon, $295.58 with Free Shipping

FYI, Garmin Nuvi 660 is currently at Amazon.com for $295.58 with free shipping, and Amazon's easy and generous return policy if you by chance should not be happy with it.

I was really tempted by that deal, but bought the Magellan Maestro 3225 at Costco for a buck and a half after instant rebate a week ago, am very happy with it, so have no good reason to return it and spend twice as much for the Nuvi 660. The Mag 3225 came with features usually reserved for more expensive units: text-to-speech, an SD card slot, and a 110v adaptor (which I wanted) included. It works really well, so I'll stick with it.

For the moment that is...

Thats for the Nüvi 350 @ $227. They want $314 for the Nüvi 660... Still a great price! but my post is still the best price, for the moment that is...

PC Nation is a very reputable site...they have it for 304.80 with NO SALES TAX AND FREE FEDEX SHIPPING....Amazon charges sales .....bought 2 750's and they were here in two days....they also have a very good return policy....

Those who buy from little known companies are not sure what they will get...Grey Market...OEM....refurbished....returned merchandise, etc.etc. I would rather spend a few bucks more to be sure I get what I am paying for without any hassels later....

Amazon - Never ever paid any Sales Tax

I have bought from Amazon.com for years and years, and never ever have paid a penny of sales tax.

The only reason I can think of that farrissr is paying sales tax at Amazon, is that perhaps you live in a state where Amazon has a warehouse/distribution center, and therefore they might be required to charge sales tax for folks they ship to in that state where they have a physical presence.

Nice Price

Sales Tax

You are absolutely correct...Live in Washington state the home of Amazon...That is the problem I personally have with Amazon. Did not mean everyone gets charged sales tax.

Huh?? What makes a GPS generic?

Thank God for the so called "generic" GPSr's as you called them. It's called competition and thats one of the healthiest benefits in the electronic market place.

If forces company's like garmin into a stock glut, the next thing you see is the product on the shelves in Sams clubs, Costco & BJ's, with maps from 2006.

The lower priced GPSr's actually have some better features than the more expensive units. (i.e. lifetime traffic, quarterly map upgrades, zagat restaurant reviews, reality views, etc.)

It's the New company's coming into the market that will keep Garmin and Magellan's technology from getting stale and keeping the price up.

Everyday is a GREAT day :)

Amazon Rocks

I bought the 660 last month..It comes with the leather case, the msn traffic. that I dont need. But the Blue tooth is Super, it sync's right up with my Lg envy, it has one touch dialing to any POI that is preloaded. I love that feature I also like using it to call. The Best part is With Amazons Very generous price Guarantee I bought it for 331, on march 29, Well it just went to 295 with free shipping Amazon gave me the credit to that price. That is now over $50 less than I paid for my 650 in Dec...and that was a great deal. It is almost the same as what I paid for my 330 last summer. I almost felt guilty selling my 650 to a friend for $250..

Good luck with that. The site you linked to is a "price checking" type of site that shows you various places to buy.

You likely actually ordered it from bwayphoto.com. Check here: http://www.resellerratings.com

When you find incredibly low prices, always check on reseller ratings. You will almost always find that it is a "bait and switch" company such as bwayphoto.com or 86photo.com that will try to get you to buy horribly over priced additional items and, if you refuse to buy them, your product is suddenly "back ordered" forever. Please let us know if you actually receive your GPS.

I agree with THRAC. I checked that website and the lowest price shows $498. Be careful as it could be a grey market unit at that price with no USA warranty from Garmin.

I Canceled Order

Thanks for the heads up I went to the resellerrating site and found that the seller had a very bad rating like you said. So I canceled my order.

I ordered a NUVI 780 from Abes of Maine $498.00 before shipping. They have a really good reputation according to reselleratings. Ihad to pay a hundred dollars more but feel I will actually get what I ordered on time. Plus they say it is a brand new USA warranted unit.

Thanks again,

C530 only $149.99 @Bestbuy

Hot price! Harry up. Only 57 remaining now.
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=E...

Released 18 Apr/08. The Garmin C530 brings easy-to-use and powerful features into one device that gets you to your destination without getting lost. As a high-sensitivity receiver, it captures a signal sooner and keeps it even when there isn’t a wide line of site. The anti-glare screen is easy to read in even the brightest environments, and it comes pre-loaded with maps right out of the box.

Nuvi 760 at Amazon

Amazon currently shows the Nuvi 760 for $440.79 with no tax or shipping. That seems to be about the best price for a "legitimate" business. I can find much cheaper quotes at ripoff places like 86photo and such but those prices are never honored unless you buy a ton of waaaaaaaay overpriced extras.

Anybody know of a better deal than Amazon or should I just go ahead and get it at that price?

[Edit]

Ok, I found a very slightly better price at buydig.com which has very high ratings at resellerratings.com but it's only a little cheaper (less than $6 difference). Considering that I have a few other things to purchase at Amazon, the ease of a single transaction will likely dictate that I still purchase from Amazon. However, if someone else is in the market for a 760 the price at buydig.com is pretty good.

Buyer beware online

Just a bit of advise when buying from online retailers. You get what you pay for. You can find nuvi 750's at $305 at everydayprice.com but if you take the extra time to google everydayprice plus ripoff or fraud as your search words. You will find a bunch of horror stories from other people. The cheapest price I found on my nuvi 750 was at tvnav.com ($335.00 + shipping) they are also a authorized garmin dealer as well.

Pricing

Yep. I found lots of "really good prices" for the 760 but I bought from Amazon. All of the places with unbelievably good prices were known bait and switch places or otherwise known to be ripoffs. I paid a decent price and am assured of receiving what I ordered in a timely manner. (Of course I also found a lot of places for waaaaaaaaaay more but.....)

Buydig is reliable

I concur. I bought a dSLR from Buydig.com after researching it for months and months and watching feedback on forums from other people who purchased from buydig. They are very reliable. I have bought other things from them and all purchases have been shipped immediately with no questions asked.

There are other stores that will call you to "confirm" your credit card or address and then refuse to ship without purchasing any accessories. Buydig.com is NOT one of those companies.

Hope this helps.

Hot cakes

I usually buy from my own website, I get free shipping and a commission on top of that, however my own 260 I got from PC Nation, at the time I bough the unit they beat my own price.

Nuvis are selling like hot cakes, yesterday I sold two Nuvi 260 and today a Nuvi 250, GPSr are a hot selling item, the more people are exposed to the technology by riding with someone who has one the more it makes for a “got to have” gadget.
