Amazon Prime Day 2026

All depends on what they are offering and at what discount.

Possibly, some years there was nothing wanted/needed/offered.

Do they still make ones that use radio for traffic? Or do they all require Bluetooth connection to data on your telephone?

For that matter, do they still send traffic updates via radio signals?

Maybe, if there will be deal on a handheld for Geocaching.

I'll be checking for discounts on Garmin Accessories.

I always look, but it's only a bargain if you need the item on sale.

It depends on whether I need what they are offering. in the past, I havent found the deals to be that great.

When Amazon first started Prime Days, there were good deals. In recent years, there's been buzz saying good deals are harder to come by, and you have to check as on camelcamelcamel.com to see a particular sale item is really a special deal compared to past pricing.

The one item I saw that I was tempted by was Apple Watch 11... except that Apple is likely releasing Apple Watch 12 in September, which of course is the reason for the good price now on 11. Even when new feature sets are only rumored and not official, I always have a Fear Of Missing Out and hesitate to pull the trigger.

I cancelled my Prime subscription about 3 years ago. Have not missed it for one minute. I would rather spend my money somewhere else.

OK.

So, gave up the free, and paid for 50% instead.

There was once a time, when systemically, the "system" was designed to give the customer the best possible deal, and they could be stacked.

Anyway amazon (I'm a long time shareholder who had the stupidity [thanks mom] to sell all of it in 2001, only to buy it back years later) generally plays a lot of tricks on people. But now they show price history.

Can you imagine if there were a filter: "only show prime day deals that are lower priced historically than last month when the same item went on sale."

That would eliminate 90%+ of the itams

And let's all be honest here. If amazon were to remove their liberal return policy, they'd be out of business. Their prices are often higher than others, the free Prime shipping has been factored in as the free returns.

Any market that requires expertise? amazon and Costco are not in them. Take ice hockey equipment. In 2026, a person goes to size their feet for example, and 3D measurements of their foot are taken by a scanning machine, and there is about as much data on said feet as stats on a pro athlete. amazon and Costco can't do that.

Maybe one day "Prime Day" can really suggest true sale items, the technology is there, but the name of the game is to move items that didn't move at said price 30 days ago lol

I did use "Prime Day" yesterday and bought toiletries I needed at 55% off. It does pay to at least look.

My subscription to Prime as paid off for many years now. I live in a rural area, far from most brick & mortar stores and order a lot online. The savings in shipping alone more than pays for the subscription cost. The other Prime benefits are just a bonus.

I get a kick out of the fact that "Prime Day" has almost turned into Prime week. It runs through Friday this year.

Got 3 Stanley cups (not ice hockey, like Yeti) 50% off on Prime Days. Why not let's try them.

One was $20--when it comes, the factory sticker on the bottom says msrp $35. Go to the Stanley website, $40. I guess they simply didn't have time to resticker the products. Why bother putting msrp on the label at all, but, it illustrates the price has gone up, while these things sat unsold.

Scored a $7 pack of 4 usb mini female to micro male adapters. I busted the one going in to the driveluxe 50 mag mount. Needed it asap for the upcoming trip.

Some dishwasher soap for a good price

I'm building a new garage and have been looking at LED lighting fixtures for some time. I found the ones I want and put them in my Amazon "Wish List", since I won't be needing them for several weeks.

I happened to look at the list on Friday night, several hours before Prime Day ended and was surprised to see the lights were reduced by 45% ! I saved over $50 by buying them early.

Prime Day was lukewarm at best for our family. My only purchase was a discounted Taco Bell gift card for my Son who works near a Taco Bell and eats lunch there.

Amazon may run a second "Fall Prime Day" in October.

cups are now shipping (got tracking today), ordered June 23.

Just have to be patient and not get discouraged when they keep changing the ship date. Don't get annoyed if you see you can order it now and get it tomorrow by 4 AM, but Prime Day order is still sitting.

I feel the $25 is solid as it's $50 on the Stanley website and $45 on amazon. Let them play their games, just out wait them, even for a year if need be (a person did this on motor oil, I did too) lol

I find a lot of stuff that I don't necessarily need to have brand-name can be found cheaper on sites like Aliexpress, like a few electronics repair parts or a TV antenna where it's not being used for something necessarily important.

Those are my thoughts as well.
