Ticket cameras

was at the car dealer getting a loaner

And I saw on the desk through the window, a rlc violation from the City of Yonkers.

The way it was laid out was as if the 21 y.o. kid would have to make a phone call, probably by matching up who had the vehicle at that time, to the customer records.

Combined RLC and Speed Camera File

Just curious if anyone has proposed a combined RLC and Speed Camera File?

I get double alerts because the same camera is listed in both files. A single file would eliminate this or am I missing something that everyone else knows?

New Speed Camera

On April 18th the city of Des Moines, IA will add a speed camera at the intersection of 9th and Grand for people traveling south on 9th. There is a red light camera there now and in 2014 1,197 tickets were issued.
During a 7 month test period about 25,000 cars sped through that intersection at over 11mph in a 25 mph zone. Not bad for downtown.
The coordinates are -93.627480, 41.587364.

Red Light Camera (after an ambulance)

I just received a mail for a red light violation.

I went to the website and saw the pictures and video.

so the front car ahead of me which was an ambulance didn't break and just made a right turn at a red light.

Oldsmar and Kenneth City added to the list of cameras being removed in Pinellas County. Only a couple of Clearwater cameras are still operational.

Arizona Cameras

Looks like most Arizona cameras are out of business, at least for the moment. Hopefully, they will stay that way.

For those of you living or travelling in Quebec province

Here is a useful website (only in French) with RLC and speed cameras locations: https://www.mtq.gouv.qc.ca/securite-transport/radars-photo-s...

are rlcs becoming a non-issue?

If you look at this subsection of all discussions, there isn't much activity.

I spent more than a week in the GTA, and there were so many cameras, I pretty much said to myself, just don't run any red lights. To my knowledge, I didn't.

(Florida) Pembroke Pines may bring back RLCs

March 16 -- The city's red-light cameras are just decoys now, unplugged since 2013, but commissioners took a big step Wednesday night to turn them back on.

a scenario where mandatory RLC and speed cameras would be beneficial

Nobody disputes that the technology is affordable, and accurate.

There seems to be a debate upon whether they are Constitutional, and merely revenue generators.

Planted Support

An interesting article about who supports speed cameras. I have often wondered if some of that happens on forums such as this one.
